  1. What would be the chances of a own brand class 66 in O gauge? Maybe not numbered or in the same scale of releases as the 00 gauge models, but unnumbered in the core liveries to start with ?
  2. Don't forget this one and it's sisters, and the as built euro spec Euro Cargo Rail locos.
  3. Spoke to the chap yesterday, he's been let down by his internet provider so is having a hard time processing orders at the moment.
  4. The rather nasty incident at Berkley Road a few months ago I was directly involved with, the driver was seriously injured as a result of the incident and I'm lead to believe he now sports a lasting reminder of the incident in way of a scare to his face. Extremely lucky that incident wasn't two dead.
  5. Personally I wouldn't even ask the driver, especially given the tragic nature of the incident and what was found. The slough incident is a case of the the public can bloody wait as long as it takes to respectfully convey the persons involved to the hospital.
  6. No, Signallers will never transfer the driver to the hotline - you request them call themselves, ultimately opens the line quicker if the first account is the "right one".
  7. A little work on the project tonight, firstly I’ve been having problems with the pattern maker dowels between board two and three. There’s been a 5mm step between the two, I had to remove the dowels which has now solved the problem. I then tidied up the cork underlay on board three, and laid/secured the sleepers ready for railing. I’ve also a little issue, I need to decide where to site my bracket signal. The idea is it’ll control a Junction off view so needs to be as close to the scenic break as possible, but at the only realistic site it would have to be to the left of the line it applies, and with the spur onto the stabling point next to it. My plan is to have a GPL a little ahead of the main bracket, any suggestions ?
  8. I’ve had a little time to lay some of the disused sleepers on the former mainline, I’ve left a gap to enable a signal to be placed, as the area is going through a resignalling and rationalisation scheme. I’ve six common crossings to modify to fit my radius points to. Next month I’ll order 2000 chairs and a few meters of rail to hopefully over the following months finish the trackwork.
  9. You should have the blocks facing the direction of travel I believe, but it's a big enough pain threading them on the right way - as in jets outside the rail, not in - so I've just put them on as they come into my hand out of the pot.
  10. I’ve picked up 600 plain line sleepers, Point work timbers and a load of pre drilled two bolt hole sleepers, the latter will be used on the disused section of former down line. On my next run of rest days I’m going to attempt to modify my common crossings, and probably lay the sleepers for board three. I’ll need more chairs and rail from C&L to lay anymore track
  11. kind of blows a huge hole in the companies line that they want Guards conducting ticket and customer service vice the doors....
  12. Have NWR got a new Capital One Credit Card then to pay for it all ?
  13. Temple Meads workstation signed in at 0359hrs. First train 5C36 Cardiff to Bristol Temple Meads. First passenger train 1L01 Temple Meads to Paddington formed of two 800 units.
  14. Its looking like 5L01, 1L01 will be the first train off Temple Meads later.
  15. My pack for the possession item has six trains at work over the period of the block all in connection with the Filton Four Tracking works. There does seem to be a move from OHL related T3s on the Badmintion lines, to more Filton works over the last month or two. Any idea if there will be a blockade to realign Filton Junction, no small task - with diversions via Avonmouth (again).
  16. There will be a route proving train running around the area prior to opening to traffic, Colas Class 70 from Westbury. Out to Clifton, Temple Meads various shunts and down to the Western end - Parson Street.
  17. We're lucky at my place as we're on 12hr rosters, usually only work three days a week - four maximum with a booked Sunday. But the locations on 8hr rosters have some very nasty rosters!.
  18. Tonight is the night, all appears to be progressing towards the programmed switch on time tomorrow morning. If you don’t hear anything tomorrow it’s gone as planned, if you do then.....
  19. We (Signallers) get a choice of “High Rate” or “Low Rate” - High being 250% pay, or Low being 150% pay plus a Comp Leave day if rostered to work, if your rest day you just get a Comp Day. If you lucky enough to be booked RDW it’s a better deal again with high and low options.
  20. My first controlled signal on Stoke Gifford Workstation, I hope they move it before the new roads are opened ! lol Smashing work on the four tracking, sadly I wont be here to play with it come December.....
  21. In that case I don't know I'm afraid. Although going on what has been said about the project so far I doubt such logic would win out.....
