Hello the class 08 /09 were built with bonnet ladders but as overhead live wires became more prominent the ladders were removed due to safety reasons so in some cases green class 08/09 would have been about with out ladders the western and southern regions were late to remove ladders with some locos in blue still with ladders

Hello can any one shed some light on the new Bachmann class 47 D1842 it is listed as "as preserved" is there any differance between as preserved and 1960s locomotive as its is one of the few Bachmann has done with just two main grills. i cant see any differance but may be some one can please. thank you

Hi just a quick reply about the price of the class 71 the seller was indeed away on a well earned holiday . I popped in the shop when they returned and explained about dj models situation as the owner had been away when this announcement was made the price did not reflect on it and they didn’t know if you care to look at the same loco now on eBay you will find it at £129.95

Well with the demise of dj models I guess the class 74 that was on the back burner (cutters torch) it looks like this model has followed the real locos and slowly made there way to the scrap yards shame as the class 71 was a nice model. Even though it would have sold even with limited livery of be blue and only pre tops and tops numbers it leaves one of the other manufacturers to try and save one before the cutters torch gets a grip. Please if your a manufacturer give us a class 74 it is a missing major southern locomotive also we are also missing a Bulleid ray worth two livery’s green and br blue and a third one with a different front end another missing sr electric locomotive. In a way a prototype to future electric 3rd rail locos 71 73 74 funny enough they were nick named Hornby s hint hint surprising Hornby Havant done this loco. It would be a nice touch . I guess the demise of dj was a one man band trying to help the railway modellers but with too much lay out and too much on his plate sorry he’s gone after all he was the one who brought us the excellent Dapol class 52 western and should be remembered for that .

Hello can any one help I can’t seem to find one of the Scammell contractor lorry’s it is dg198011. The model is a black one with united on the side. The only link I have found is hattons but on calling them they say it was never in stock and they have never had one second hand which leads me to think it was not issued mike .

Head codes any one on this subject should refer to my post on page 61 there is a pic of D600 head code the real loco I did not take the photo but full credit should go to the photographer mike. Ps there are several numbers letters that are wrong on the model so any one wishing to change to correct font should do so if they want it as the real locos
