      You speak it 'long hand'! So you have to ask, for example, "Is the down line clear for 1K12*?" (* Spoken as One Kilo One Two) and then the reply is "Yes the down line is clear for 1K12." Then the same for entering section and out of section. it can be more than an extra two hundred phone calls a shift on a week day for us!

    Despair at seeing the shrubbery of the Olympic opening event. Where's the magnificence of Concorde, the Harrier Jump Jet, the original Mini, etc etc to celebrate all things British as opposed a picnic in a garden?!

      The 'twee' image brings in thousands of tourists every year and this is clearly important.

       

      I'm not fussed by the Olympics - it's taken so much money away from non-olympic sports. Our Cricket was told this in no uncertain terms that this was why our applications were all turned down!

      Does it really matter?

       

      I've never judged any other country on their opening ceremony so I doubt many will do that with us!

      A lot of team building excercises are nonsense! The best way to help a team gel is often a trip to a pub! Otherwise things like five a side work very well.

       

      Actually I found a week on the Welsh Highland Railway worked very well at GrantRail!

      When I have my hair cut we have all sorts of subjects - education, whatever I'm doing at work (though it's pretty repetative now!), cars, children, questionable taste jokes - all sorts!

    Nice day in Pickering - the station roof looks superb and seeing 80135 in lined black mde a lovely change from the green its carried for too long!

      Why was it carrying a running number of 80135 when we visited? Would have liked to have seen an appropriate 'lost' 4MTT instead!
