Something that has struck me is that I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a 50 without the MU cables on the front. I say that because that is the version that Dapol has produced with a pre-Tops number, despite it seemingly being rarely photographed or seen. Does anyone remember seeing one without them or have any pictures?
Theres one on p1 of this thread..

Simon, any suggestions as to sources of colour information (clothing etc.) for 1930s figure painting? (sorry Ade for the minor hijack)

I use the slaters ones, they aren't a pair of venison. You be the judge as to whether they are of a standard you'd be happy with

Just lost a game of human chess in Budgens.
Trying to keep 2 metres from all the other shoppers until i got cornered with no possible route to go anywhere without passing too close to somebody. I did the decent thing and just stood on the spot and imploded. Check mate....

Yum! I managed to panic buy a pack of them when trying to stock my freezer for self-isolation. Looking forward to them. We used to have them a fair bit when my son was younger but we had to call them English meatballs and hide the pack because we knew he wouldn't eat faggots....

We supported one of our local pubs who have implemented a delivery service the other day. It was a nice treat in these troubled times and good to think we are hopefully helping to make sure they are still in business on the other side. £52 for a 3 course meal and 4 pints of beer delivered. All nicely cooked and delivered warm enough to eat.

The two factual updates we have are drawings expected end of q1 2020. (i.e about now) and these are to be built in the UK, commencing shortly after that.
Given the current emergency I would imagine the Chirk factory is shut down for the safety of the workforce?
I'd imagine significant delay....

Hi Robin et all.
As some of you were kind enough to react sympathetically to my situation it now seems that my employer has realised that we are non-essential and I won't be forced out onto public transport and delivering cars against my better judgement. We will now receive the Government compensation payments. I say "it seems" because there has been absolutely no official communication from them. Pretty poor really and pretty clear what they think of their front line staff. I hope your situation gets sorted soon Robin.

I'm wondering, does the RN regularly store such vessels in wardrobes?
Of course not, Narnia doesn't have a navy

ISTR glycerine being quoted somewhere as a good preservative for such wood brought indoors. Where you'd buy that at any time, let alone right now, I have no idea!
You can buy it in bottles from boots (and presumably other) pharmacies.
I have a bottle for maintaining the flexibility of the rubber seals on my convertible.

I am currently on 14 days self isolation but at present my employer shows no sign of accepting the inevitable and closing down. As such I will be expected to make public transport journeys and/or share a hire car with 2 or 3 strangers for hours on end. I'm not happy but as long as Govt says "dont go to work unless it's impossible to work from home" I'm in the same boat as you Robin.
