"Sadly, all my stuff lives in a display case for the time being. I have a small test track but nothing else." {Castle]
While I like the big engines, they require a big layout,
My collection is the small stuff, for a layout I can afford..We all hear you.
Your posts are full of knowledge we all crave
Thank you..

The Post 1930 Pollen E centre wagons conversion at Didcot
shows 3-hole wheels, and that is how the kit is supplied.
Noel
To confirm, the Post 1930 outside wagon pair
are supplied with flangless spoked 3D printed
wheels.
Fabrication of the Girder about a piece of brass
sheet could also work as ballast.
A light reaming of the turntable mounts will ease
movement.

Phil,
I noted your model sometime ago.
The pony wheel needs to be 9mm and the spoke patternfor the 14mm drivers is different, with w/b 21mm. Inserts provided.
The kit has detail backhead, with an open through cab: traversing
jacks on the footplate The motor is fully contained in the body.
Parts are painted before assembly for a crisp model.
It is an expensive model to produce using FXD, FUD, WSF for the
3D printed parts with bought-in parts to provide a running model
excluding wheels.

Sent a copy of your book to a friend in South Africa.for Christmas.
They want 2000 Rand "Import & Customs" on it (115.50GBP)
On their eBay the book ranges from 300 - 400 Rand.

I like the firebox glow - very effective. What a shame that firehole flap won't pivot up!
Andy.
We were mindful of this with the S&DJR 25a - the flaps are slightly open to
give flicker into the cab, and the grate has raking holes in the frames.

Some of these can motors, as I posted above with a gearbox,
are used in professional video equipment. I don't think they can
all be junk.
If Mashima are so good, I am surprised the Customer List, Tooling
and Rights of the business is not bought by a competitor.
We have seen this happen too often as generations change.

Is 500 any longer a "Limited Edition"?
Hornby do this all the time, when 1500
was once the standard batch

Mainly Trains has indeed stopped trading:

Looks like it's in Limbo just now.

I think within these pages it was reported
that Dave Cleal had died after a long illness.
He was certainly a treasure house for white metal
castings and all kinds of bits & pieces.

I think links to other sites are a good idea, if this is to
be a research source, as you are proposing.
What does Andy Y say?
