  1. Further progress today Added a grounded van - which was also a magazine giveaway which was sitting in the "what am I going to do with that" pile Pete
  2. Few photos of early stages of construction The signal box The overview
  3. So progress has been made: Signal box partially assembled Base prepared with a length of track Found a Ratio signal that I had forgotten about. Hadn't used it because I thought it was one of the very brittle resin ones - pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find it was mainly whitemetal. Assembly commenced - was a distant signal - but filled in the v cut-out on the arm so I can use it as a home. So far kept to the previous rule of no purchases - but broke that today as ordered a ModelU figure of a signalman Will post some build photos shortly Pete
  4. Well i was sitting this one out although I had a few ideas. Then going through the bits box today i found a signal box that was a free gift with Railway Modeller - which appealed to my sense of irony. So my thought is a signal box with the signalman sitting back in his armchair whilst waiting for a train. More to follow Pete

  10. I think I must apologise for ever suggesting modules - i was thinking of four cakeboxes by one person being able to be put together. I never had any thought of everyone linking together. I agree with Andy's post above - the simplicity of the cake box challenge is part of its attraction Pete

  12. Wonder if a cakebox gathering might be organised at some point? Pete Ps not sure what the collective noun for cakeboxes would be
