  1. What is the bogie centre distance on PC1?
  2. Parallels seem to be fitted to most of the named ones when built, then changed to tapered sometime after name removal.
  3. Interesting. So we're looking at something like this. (And I look forward to seeing some figures on the non-linearity, and how it will be implemented in due course.) It begs the question though on whether the model design will assume a preponderance of transition or non-transition model curves, or, to put the question another way, when and how is the curve radius 'detected'?
  4. In the video, Jason confirms that the tilt angle will be related to the curve radius. My question still stands on the nature of that relationship. Or did your "it won't be" mean that the relationship will be non-linear?
  5. In the model, will the relationship between track radius and tilt angle be linear?
  6. What's the distance between inside splasher faces?
  7. I like the heavily toned down greens (and their differences) for the grass.
  8. With a couple of signal gantries, it could be Kings Cross... But seriously, that looks excellent. It's not easy to set the proportions of such a bridge, particularly height, but I think you've got it right for the context. I'm imagining a couple of 60' elms or beech close by...
  9. The overall body shape is excellent, and the gutters look good. Personally, I'd press the delete button on all the roof seam rivets. (See your pic in #104.)
  10. Bachmann's revised running numbers would seem to indicate the production slot is now booked. The brake hanger differences for the High Level 54/64/74xx chassis have been resolved, and the chassis kit is now ready to appear when the Bachmann model is released. Chris Gibbon is confident about the usability of 5'2" 54xx wheels under Bachmann's overlarge 64xx splashers, but have your scrapers ready just in case. Depending on etch real estate, Chris might include some bespoke 64xx splashers in the kit.
  11. Strange. Bachmann's tank front steps are for 6410 onward, so that legitimises 6412 and 6417, but not 6406. Bachmann's inclusion of the footplate-mounted lubricator legitimises 6406, but not 6412. (6417 unknown in that respect.)
  12. Printed or otherwise, the colour of an iron plate is different from the colour of a brass plate.
  13. In your view, how so? - "A fear of the unknown", or "I've never used a spreadsheet before", or "I'm not clear how the system works"?
  14. Excellent. It's always refreshing when someone intuitively 'gets' CSBs and takes to them like a duck to water.
  15. Mikkel is the expert on shades of grey...
  16. Great stuff. At least we're not arguing about the colour this time...
  17. The lettering looks excellent. Did the MSJWR change from 'M.S.J.W.R.' to 'MSJWR' at some time (or even 'M&SWJR') ? (Looking at Wagonman's wagons in the forum building thread.) Regarding dropsiders frequenting goods depots, I'd never thought about it until you mentioned the point, but I can't see any reason why not, and it could be argued the dropside allowed easier access to all the wagon's contents.
  18. That 'flexible MDF' looks interesting - never encountered that before.
  19. When Chris returns from Expo, information on 64xx and 54xx brake hangar brackets is awaiting him in his inbox. The 74xx pattern was slightly different, and will be sent soon. The chassis project is somewhat speculative at the moment, because no one knows whether it will fit the Bachmann body! (Wheel clearances for the 5'2" 54xx will be 'interesting'.)
  20. I solder droppers to the underside of the rail, before the track is laid. The droppers pass through oversize holes drilled through the trackbed on the rail axis.
  21. ISTR another thread discussing this, but I can't find it now.
