    Most of it is indeed N-Brass Kat, the rest is brass section and wire with Sommerfelt insulators.

    Sorry to say that not much (ie nowt!) has happened lately but the modelling juices have slowly started to flow again. A few small projects for Loch Dour have been finished and I want to get this finished before re-starting the EMU's.

  2. What's your backup, if one of those point motors fail at 11am on a Saturday morning of the exhibition.

    That's always at the back of my mind when planning/building a exhibition layout, which is why i always use manual point control, bike spoke, WIT ETC, which isn't a 100%  reliable, but i've only had one failure, in all the years of exhibiting and it was a 5 min fix, KISS.

    Just asking!!!!:scratchhead::D

  3. I've used code 83 insulfrog on my new layout and on one of my loft layouts, never had any problem with any of my American diesels or stock, all different makes,  stock has RP25 wheels, which i think Peco code 83 is made for (may be wrong) maybe your stock doesn't have RP25 profile or similar, it's a bit like when Peco code75 arrived on the scene and early Hornby and lima wheels didn't like the frog.
