  2. My only trip to Reading was in a group of 6th form music students to a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion. We went west by train Most outings were east on the Underground or worse, coach or minibus. Sorry your footbridge is under threat. So is the one at Southall, I gather, which goes right across the railway and is part of the so called Jacob's ladder, or so I read recently. Your station plans are obviously made by non rail goers unaccustomed to "returning from some far off model railway exhibition with bulging shopping bags." Hope you get a satisfactory solution.
  3. Hi All. Similar sky (#30901) here but wind picking up - our ash tree getting stripped of its leaves. Two invalids at home, again, so do excuse my excentricities posted on the forum today. Hope your day's better than this.
  4. Really enjoyed Barrow Hill, again. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see all the layouts properly in the shed because of the problem getting round. So, with Avago in mind, I concentrated on the ones I particularly wanted to see. There's still a few bits to do or improve for Llanberis, next year. We went to Manchester 2012 and had another great day. The layouts were well spaced out but some were so popular it was a come back later situation....but well worth the wait. Hoping for a few more bookings for Avago, so if you know of anyone looking for a small layout that comes cheap (1 operator plus economical car), put them in touch. See you soon.
  5. On the beach, everybody hear me come on out
  6. Oh, I was only twenty-four hours from Tulsa
  7. Other half definitely under the weather (and the duvet) - but he has his ipad if any of his rmweb threads get a response. Frozen fish pie in oven - nice n easy. . Off to kitchen to dish up.
  8. Best looking loco? Hmmmm.... What sends my heart pounding? King Arthurs and Schools Spam Cans Britannia Black 5 LMS streamliner 'Duchess of Hamilton' right down to the art deco lamp casing to name a few. Then there's the toss up between the LSWR's Beattie Well Tank, Class 3700 'City' class and Wainwright C in preserved livery And, for the all-in-one with passengers, is the steam railmotor But my overall steam winner, as I've got quite fond of it, is GWR's 14xx. It brings out the Ivor the Engine in me EDIT DIESELS Southern Turbostar EMUs Pendolino (just love coming into Euston and being swallowed up in a sea of red and yellow) Closely followed by Electrostar in Southern livery
  9. I think, before you can call this 'multitasking', you have to be listening to the kids / partner / dog ranting at you and solving their problems whilst getting on with everything else whilst going round and round in circles on the telephone to get to the only person on the planet who has the answer to why your machine's broken down or your MR magazine's not turned up (see thread elesewhere). Any other definitions, out there?
  10. Good morning...or is it? I've definitely got a weather system in the stomach. Lets's just say it's a bit windy down there. Don't want to go into too much detail but I do have a pack of antacids.... Looks like another day lurking on rmweb, then.
  11. So if you’ve got a little bull that’s a white little bull,
  12. I learnt this trick at school when a 'friend' asked me not to hand in my homework because she hadn't done hers.
  13. Morning all. Bore da, if you're in Wales. Still not started my raiti riaot raito ratio kit [that's the 4th time I've tried to get that right - touch typng sick]. Saturday's excuse : went shopping. Yesterday, family due round for birthday celebrations [though not till the evening it seems] and wouldn't like to loose lose anything of those bits when it comes to moving it off the dining table. Today [maybe?] Hope that's acceptable for my first post on this thread.
  14. Lucy in the sky with diamonds : Beatles
  15. And not once have we had to request anyone not to touch, either. Glad you like it, Doug.
