  1. 37608 just arrived from Rails. I have 6 accurascale 37’s now and I have to sat 37608 is the pick of a very fine bunch. The livery application is stunning and the fit of the roof panel is perfect (I would say that it’s due to familiarity of the factories producing them now). Also of note is the detail pack having dummy delner couplings. Amazing attention to detail all round.

Now go off and make me a relevant unit to drag around! Pretty please.

  2. Looking really good. The different shades between body and chassis are exactly like the prototype. The below pictures were taken by me half an hour ago in Hinksey yard. The faded chassis is because I’m almost certain they haven’t been painted out of the Railfreight red paint they received many moons ago, indeed some of the MXA identifying stickers were starting to peel off.

I checked all the pins, and they are all perfectly aligned but I’ve since contacted @Revolution Ben and he’s suggested that I contact support for help, which I will do.

If they are all aligned and it were me I would put the slightest of bends on the pins to endure it held the decoder. Bend one half one way and the other the opposite (very small amounts though and with needle nose pliers or tweezers).

  4. They are Cleco’s (fast to apply gripper pins) and hold the metal in place until riveted. They are very strong so it’s fine to grip together parts and even let sealant set with them in (if needs be), until riveted.

  5. My Caroline has arrived and very nice it is too.

Outer brown box was damaged but it somehow protected the Revolution packaging perfectly. One detail part loose, I expect this from every model I buy these days (not because I think they are poorly made but more I understand they have travelled thousands of miles and are high lot detailed, my missus would disagree but I’m a realist).

The height “issue” appears to me to be largely unfounded and if there is one then it’s tiny.

Positive's are it looks stunning, has all the detailing (out and in), comprehensive lighting, nice packaging and overall a great job.

Well done Revolution you have done a fab job on a unique coach that I am thrilled to have in my collection and wouldn’t have if you hadn’t of made it (too much work even for me).

  6. It will be the worm drives in the top of the gear towers that have seized up. You need to remove the gear tower clips, then pop out the worm drives and half shafts, get the bearing blocks (square brass parts either side of the worm) moving freely on the shaft and lubricate them and the worms, put back together and all will be fine again.

It is a bit faffy but easy enough.

    Hi,

I have just returned from my local club meeting and after testing my second Accurascale 37 sound decoder which was delivered today. After testing on the club layout curves, no flange squeal was heard. This is now the second one to do so, or not.

Just checking that you have F11 on when you are expecting the noise. On the previous page someone was suggesting they expected the noise on as default and off when F11 selected. I think the logical way is how accurascale have done it, select F11 and the noise is on (like all the other noises).

  8. I’m hopeful that the yellow paint will be changed as these are just livery samples.
I don’t predict the size and shape of the wipac clusters or lights will change and also I’m sure they won’t retool the body for the lifting eye in a different place.
Anyway all of the above are minor issues that can easily be put right if not changed by accurascale before production. If I buy 66004 and it’s like it is currently I will adjust all the minor bits and then have a unique model, just how I like it.

Some great work, I have 59206 on order in Freightliner livery from the 2nd batch, no doubt it will have the same issues with the exhaust and nrm pods as the first batch. Just wish I had the courage to weather my own stock, it's something that really does need doing.

Take the plunge. It really isn’t that hard and it can be just about wiped off if you do mess it up. The trick is less is more and recover anything unwanted whilst wet. Remember we all started by not having done it before.

  10. 3 months has passed since I last put something on here!
Anyway I have finally completed some items.

59206 is now fully complete and weathered. I have sorted out the details that were wrong from the factory, complete repaint in Freightliner G+W, added a couple of drivers, added Legomanbiffo sounds and weathered it. Job done.

47727 is complete in its ex Calidonian sleeper livery with embellishments. Full rework and repaint of an older Bachmann 21 pin model, lots of details changed (buffers, filled body side steps, nose connectors etc), drivers painted and weathered. I can’t remember if this has sound or not, will find out during testing.

37423 is a sound fitted accurascale model. Stunning base model that has been weathered and really looks good for it. I have still got to add drivers (when they arrive from accurascale) and weather the fan whilst the body is off. I be also will do a little more to the ploughs at the same time.

Anyway enjoy the photos and key me know what you think.
