I hope this is the right thread to ask this, but as I have 37402 on order, I’m wondering if there’s any difference between 37402 and 37418? As I model the present day, I also have Revolution Trains 975025 ‘Caroline’ on order, so as it’s been working with 37418 recently, I’m hoping it’s just a simple job to renumber.
No where near sadly. Buffers, lamp irons, side windows, nose multi sockets, highland stag decals to name a few. No doubt more as well.

Great photos Jim. Always interesting reading this thread and great to see the specialist rail carrier wagon with barriers. Because your pictures are so good I’m keen to try and make it in model form. More research before I commit though.

Thanks Jacob. I have nothing for 31601 to haul but just fancied doing it. I also have another Hornby 31 that I plan on repainting into 31454. When that’s done I either must get some coaches to go with them.

I took a pic of most of the RES coaches in the rake. They were all weathered the same way, slap on some panel line paint, wait for it to dry, remove/spread/guide using thinners on various brushes followed by airbrush weathering. Finally some powders at the appropriate places. I didn’t copy any specific coaches but did look at lots of photos to get a good feel for them. They really do look great and the loco sets them off a treat. I did model 47745 just before it went on fire. So it looks well used with plenty of scabby/interesting details on it (paint patches/rust).
I did make a talk through tutorial which is on YouTube with these coaches so go check it out if you like.

37219 is certainly an interesting one (all 37’s are IMO). Enjoyable to do and get all the details incorporated.
Get the MHA’s done. Lovely wagons. Looking forward to my rake of them being complete.
I am also making bespoke loads for each in the rake.- 1

Very nice! Especially love the mail train, and the weathering on those RES coaches looks superb. Would be great to see some more shots of those.
Thank you kindly. I will take some extra shots tomorrow on the layout.

In fairness, as much as I am really looking forward to these 92s, they will never displace the 90 as my favourite AC electric loco
Nobody reading this thread cares!

So having 5 accurascale 37’s I decided a long time back to reduce my Bachmann 37 numbers in preparation. This I did and I didn’t expect to buy any more. Anyway I do like to see what’s available on eBay (keeping my hand in as such), this led me to 2x quick succession purchases of Bachmann sound fitted 37’s. Long story short, they were cheap. I ended up with one only costing me £15 after selling the sound chip. Anyway the below was the £15 BR Blue one.
Full repaint as 37219 ‘Jonty Jarvis’ in Colas colours. All the paint and transfers (except 3d nameplates) I had from previous projects so cost was basically nothing. I had purchase, change and heavily modify the noses to be representative but sold the old ones for the same price. The buffers needed work along with the roof horns replacing but these I had sat around from previous projects. All in a super cheap bespoke loco to go on the layout. I love that is has so many details and is also in 2022 looking rather grimy. Driver reshaped and painted up and I had a spare sound chip which I fitted.
Also finished my first accurascale MHA. Beautiful wagons that are really well detailed, more on these when they are all complete.
Next to finish is my other cheap 37 which is being reworked into 37418 as seen in 2022. This will run with Caroline when she arrives (can’t wait).
Anyway hope you enjoy the pictures.

Super job Mick and quite the undertaking. Well done. I will hopefully see them all at Warley.

My MHA’s arrived today (very quickly I might add after splitting an order). They are fantastic, so much detail and weight. Well done accurascale yet again.
On a side note, DHL actually managed to deliver my parcel at the first attempt and in perfect condition, (must mean the next accurascale DHL delivery will take 2 weeks of “attempted”/delayed deliveries). Wonders never cease. This is a slight on DHL and no reflection on awesome accurascale (my personal model manufacturer!).

My sincere apologies for the cock up on my part. In fairness i genuinely didnt see the warning pop up on the shipping cart. Thanks for the quick reply in any case
I did exactly the same thing (MHA and FNA-D), not sure I saw the pop up either.
Anyway if that’s the way it is I will wait out. My only question is: How do you ensure I get my wagons available now (MHA) with the yet to arrive wagons (FNA-D)? Basically I don’t want to be left on the cold where you say we sold out of them ages ago.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @MoonM,
I saw that this evening and well, my heart sunk. What an awful thing to happen and the rapido team have our deepest sympathy on that one. What an awful watch it was and thing to happen on such a lovely model (I do have one of the first batch myself)
Really hope the boxes did their job and protected the models!
Cheers!
Fran
Not good.
As you say, let’s hope the boxes and packaging have done their job Fran!

That’s just the way it is in todays world, it’s no drama. Looking forward to Jan 23 now.
It’s worked in your favour with me anyway. Thinking the first ones were imminent I ordered a 5th one before it sold out from one of your suppliers. Happy I did and now have longer to pay for it. #winning

Liking the S60 gravel car. Seen them a few times when I used to go and watch Wales Rally GB.

I’m after 1x cab interior for a super detailed Hornby 67 that I bought second hand that had one missing (goodness knows how only one goes missing).
Please PM if you have one going.

Amazing job on the stay alive, just what I would want from a system.
On a side note, some of the stuff that gets asked of accurascale (the approachable manufacturer) is faintly ridiculous. Hope Fran et al have the resolve to keep laughing and replying.

So the main ares of concern (the bits they messed up)....
The exhaust sits far to high....
The NRN pods are all wrong on all models...
The chassis shape under the cabs looks nothing like the real thing...
Are people really still going to buy these with those errors??? Revolutions N scale model 59 looks to be near perfect in every way and it seems they've designed and made it in 6 weeks.... Dapol have taken what, 6 years and made these basic errors, in my eyes its really not good enough, it almost stinks of contempt towards the purchaser. This class 59 should have been on par with the Hattons class 66 which has the right shaped chassis under the cab, to the same standards as the Accurascale 37s and forthcoming Cavalex 56 but its not!
I think what really pi$$e$ me off is that a lot of these issues were pointed out to Dapol at various stages, do they not listen to their customers, a lot of people even post reference photos, to pluck an example look at Steadfasts posts and reference photos.... he has posted enough on this page alone to show what models should have what NRNs on the roof and where and thats before you start looking at the other 43 pages on this thread!
I just feel utter disappointment looking at these Dapol 59s, ive made my decision now, i won't be buying any. I will wait to see if Dapol improve the model on any further production runs, or just hope and pray that Revolution upscale theirs.
Largely agree and in todays, everything available to you at the touch of a button, even more annoying. You only have to look at the new order manufacturers to see how it should be done!
Still, at the pre-order price I committed to (if indeed that holds) I will buy one. The details will bother me but I always intended to repaint when I got one in my hands. Just now I will have to do some tweaking before paint.
I can see eyes rolling (my missus for one) and I agree but I only really work on the premise of whatever i am buying being largely right. The rest I can amend and will enjoy so doing no doubt. There isn’t much that I buy and only need to weather, although one manufacturer is trying to ease my work bench workload though (thanks, you know who you are!).

When are accurascale going announce an 08/09? Ripe for the picking imho. Hornby model is very good and Bachmann good but, basic.
An accurascale model with full detailing, lighting package and stay alive will bring many a layout to life for I assume a decent price (here’s hoping anyway).
BTW - Incase suggested before, I’m not looking back through this thread to find out.

Just got my 47712. Looks great, much better than it does in photos.
The only problem is that one of the windscreens is loose inside the cab. I'd rather open it up and fix it than send it back. It's good to see from the instructions that the body is screwed on rather than clipped but has anyone any experience to share of getting into the cab before I attempt it?
I have taken a few apart (also had to glue a loose screen back in) and it’s real easy. Nothing of note to mention regards taking it apart.

Whilst I sort of get what you are saying, part of the fun making your own model bespoke is doing some research.
Personally I just type in the loco number and the year into Flickr and hey presto, pictures for you to peruse and note down the details.
