  1. Newcastle this time - not a brilliant photo, but I like the atmosphere and it's a former North Eastern Railway loco.
  2. North British Railway Class F (LNER class J88) 0-6-0T loco BR no. 68328 at Edinburgh
  3. A photograph by A.H.Malan - found with two similar photographs, in a house in North Somerset. They are now with other Malan photographs in the National Archive at Kew, forwarded there by NRM.
  4. Another industrial loco - this time from the North Yorks Moors Railway - Lambton Hetton and Joicey Colleries no.5
  5. Most of Dad's photos at Taunton are looking in towards the station, so I hadn't seen that view before. We moved to Somerset in the early '50s so it could well have been there. Thanks for your suggestion. When I have time, which won't be soon, I will have a look in his spotting logs to see if I can confirm it.
  6. Got to have a King - but I am not sure where it was taken. I only have the negative, so it hasn't got Dad's album caption. Any thoughts?
  7. Jubilee Jervis leads the 'J's and the Viking name for York was Jorvic!
  8. Holidays, Hotels and the 'Sussex Highlands' - at Horsted Keynes - I think.
  9. The set over the back may be the one I saw there on Monday this week, with the first coach at the west end absolutely plastered in graffiti.
  10. I suppose I had better kick off 'H' with a Highbridge photo, with Highbridge Loco Box to the right, controlling access to the former loco and carriage works, as well as the eastern approaches to the S&D station.
