    I do like the look of this system and I think this is the way forward, the big dcc manufacturers throttles now all look horribly dated and the z21 station removes the need for a computer in between (although the command station is essentially a computer running a service for the throttle app). It's a shame they didn't integrate some wifi client hardware in to the station itself as I would imagine most people already have a router which is not next to their railway, you can probably set the tp link router in to bridge mode anyway and join your existing wifi network.

    Got a Digitrax super Chief (DCS 100 and 402 throttle) for £112, was a risk but cleaned up really well and works a treat, would be looking at well over £300 for new,

    Hi Mark, All track down and half the point motors installed and wired but with 48 points its turning in to mammoth task! Since you guys are using Digitrax did you consider accessory decoders with loconet for feedback? Andrew

    Douglas, It might be worth investigating these from the German equivalent of Maplin, I bought five to try out before placing a larger order and although I have been testing just on the workbench they seem okay. It is better to run them on DC rather than AC as you can reduce the voltage to get them to operate at a slower pace as the motor they use is DC anyway. Andrew
