  2. So after a long day yesterday more work has been done to the Alresford end where the point out of ropley is being included into the scene for mays two appearances The fiddle yard curves on this end have also started with board construction being planned for next week's assembly. So far trunking is in the board is wired and point rodding is partly in although I am a pack short doh Hills are also in temporary ready for cutting to shape once wooden ends are on Once thos board is completed work will start on the sheds to complete the shed roofs and interiors Chris
  3. So this morning ii received a call saying 828 is ready for collection after having some rivets replaced due to tightness stopping easy movement of the chassis so looks like the airbrush has another job for tomorrow wen she returns she will put under restoration loco count up to these locos are 1/. Swanage 34105, 76017, 75079, douglas (j94 conversion), 27007, 45132, 30499, just leaves 30506 left and 31806 as an alternative loco so either in use or in the shed in final stages do i make 34058 and 80150 although they have never come to Ropley?? hmmm... i am still thinking of getting Braunton but need to figure out the tender since it will need custom modifications made to suit as for stored locos 41312 will need some rods off i believe and 30076 still needs to be bought then just the U tender that was never finished
  4. Thank you very much there is now over 8 items of stock showing signs of being stored or restored at least now the layout is due to go up in full in a few weeks so will take shots of finished interiors etc
  5. Morning all so more work done now on the loco fleet with james now finished and the thumper now waiting for transfers to be delivered the thumper's paintwork has also had some deliberatee mistakes done in the green for weathering purposes and other ideas if they work
  6. Paul like the idea of how to bend the plastic i need to build an lswr water crane at some point looking good tho lulworth is certainly coming on nicely
  7. hi All more progress has been made after the mhr gala with some more motivation since she went out running after a year out stock has now taken priority as well as sorting fiddleyard boards too all stock is currently drying ready for either final coats or weathering Chris

  9. Hi Ian random question do you know any 3d printer companies that do custom orders Chris
  10. Thank you Phil for the nice feedback so after the show finished much has already progressed. over the course of the weekend saw 3 new items of stock enter the line pictures to follow construction on the new point board has been done already extending another 6 inches so scenics will be completed prior to its next show in April 30506 and 30828 are under heavy building work although valve gear scares me to make any advice???? 31806 has wheels on order as well as a motor to follow hopefully the first of the 2 usa dock tanks should arrive for April too next job will be the curves for the fiddle yard to be remodeled and re laid Chris
  11. Cheers Tom And shame I was going to pick your brains Hopefully see you soon Chris

  14. Morning all Much work is going on in ropley since some items have finally turned up still missing lots that is to be ordered Work over the last week has focused in the yard and sheds The sheds have had a girder rebuild and the shed roof material arrived so they are in the process of being made finally!! Urie site has had a massive go at with a Dapol 9f I bought last year to build swanage with now donating parts to make 499 more realistic I hope to post some photos later on to show progress with the signal also nearly complete and she'd doors on makes the layout look that bit better Ropley is now confirmed attending the MHR gala in Feb as well as a show in Portsmouth in April and appearing at Brockenhurst in May hopefully it also might show off a few boards at the Basingstoke show on the club stand too Chris
  15. looking good Ian like the livery choice will go well on Tidworth spray some of my stock if you like aha
  16. Happy new year all !! not much has happened recently but I thought I would give a small update.... Canadian Pacific's tender has been finished with its coal bunker extension complete quite glad since getting the colours to match was bad enough also the Pal van is now on final assembly stages before entering traffic I have 2 more of these to build afterwards and also the grampus is now ready for internal work to be done (adding a load) before I put all extra details on and weather it. next on the agenda for this sort of work like Canadian Pacific has had is 41312 Ivatt, who will have motor removed, coal bunker emptied, and cylinder rods removed. lets see what 2016 has to bring for Ropley shall we
  17. Getting there Ian looks good braver man than me takes me about a year to get the courage to do anything like that
  18. Railway depot signs would be good Not to be moved Limited clearance Authorised persons only etc
  19. Evening all hope everyone is having a jolly Christmas so something has happened that normally doesn't on Christmas day......... modelling !!! so what has been done well.... after a long period of time ropley's wagon stock has now reached the last ten the picture attached showing all the wagons shows the left side as out of the box models and the right hand side wagons that have been made by myself over the years quite impressed to see I nearly draw level with out of the box stock just 2 pal vans left 4 salmon wagons another crane and jib runner and finally 2 rudd's Cam pac's tender has also now had the extension piece trial fitted and fits well chuffed with this now all she needs is the coal bunker built since she is out of use in this time frame so being coaled would look odd! the generator coach has also re appeared so work will start on this shortly too also I have attached a picture of things to come the U class looks like its going to be a very difficult challenge so soldering practice before I tackle it!!! Chris
