  1. Almost all via internet. Local shop is a bit crap. I have no problems with using Ebay for some items, the sellers on there are not unknown to the hobby, found one who used to write in some model press. Online with such companies as DC, Edge, Precision, if I can find him Shawplan. Comet, Dave Franks buffers, old Parkside. Phone mail order from Replica
  2. And the Toyota needs the Land Rover to extract it!
  3. Sorry Tony. How about the misuse of decimate by many people?
  4. Thanks Jol Looks like a good first steam loco kit for me. Now depends on if I can get decent station plans, if so I get the loco. Also tempted to try EM with this new Peco track.
  5. Replica glazing requires a lot more work as the window holes are slightly too deep for it. The RMB is fine but BSK CK are a tiny bit too deep and it shows.
  6. Thanks all Looks like I may get a LRM 2P 0-4-4T I know quite a bit about the mainline as I model them in BR blue era. Got a green 20 somewhere since the pity thing as both lines were majority steam until closure.
  7. This is one of two threads I am starting here. This one i sregarding late BTs one definately a driving one, the other unsure. They are DIag 1964A Lot 1086 1938 Diag 2122 Lot 1577 1950 I THINK I can do the 1964A with Comet or Worsley but not sure. Does anyone know for sure which were converted and also who does them. I do have the LMS coach book. Other thread will be up later and discussing corridor stock.
  8. Out of interest what is your connection to LRM as I am wondering about one of their loco kits.
  9. No real update except to say finally found the thread. They are now shells in blue and grey piccies to follow soon
  10. Well this was difficult to find. No piccies yet but so far I have 3 GWR150 coaches under way BSK and 1 TSO in primer. 1 TSO being tidied up in the joins. Excess parts BG is coming along well (in my MR mark 2 set with a Triang Hornby RMB) Also a BFK is coming along. Just received from Replica 3 underframe kits for the older style cylinders for the GWR 150 set, 2 TSO interiors and 5 glazing packs. Will be letter writing to Shawplan for the Laserglaze, tried phoning 20 times last week.
  11. The last version was a 3 door hatch with slightly shorter wheelbase.
  12. Very nice, and what a rubbish editor in the forum now
  13. Ooo a Tiger, nice. I was in ASOC about 25 years ago.
  14. I spent a fortune on his products. They were a pleasure to build and I had chatted at Warley a couple of times, as well as writing to them asking for BR Tube wagons and 21 ton hoppers. Of course I have some of them! Too many dieing too young. RIP
  15. I am looking at 2 potential places and so will require stock. There is SOME cross over as the two places are rail connected. Upton line and Evesham loop Late 50s to early 60s. 4mm scale not sure if to go EM or OO. My main under construction layout is representative of the line between them and is blue era BR, so no cross over in period. just general location. My Peaks, 47s and 50s will be nowhere near which ever one I choose. Coaches Need 2 BTs one is identified and sure what it is the other 95% identified. DIag 2122 BT driving Diag 1964A BT (no view of far end from loco so do not know if driving or if any of this type converted, but coupled to a 0-4-4T with auto style working) ~~~~~~~~~~ Corridor stock, looking at PIII by the look of it, seen pre port hole TO, BTK and porthole BTK, also CKs not sure of type. None corridor, no obvious ID on them. Locos 0-4-4T 1833 Class 0-4-4T Stanier 2P 0-6-0 3F Tender MR design I THINK 57xx is easy ~~~~~~~~~~ 4-4-0 2P 4-4-0 4P 2-6-4T Fowler 4MT 2-6-0 Ivatt 4MT What is interesting is a lack of Mark 1s and Diesels, although I can work out all the ex GWR stuff OK. Surprised 20s hadn't made one place. All locos are filthy and coaches clean! So what are good models to use of these, looks like kits for the small ones and may be chassis kits under old RTR for the 4-4-0s Looking at 3 locos 2 coaches 10 wagons for idea 1 and 4 locos 8 - 10 coaches, 20+ wagons for idea 2 How hard is valve gear to assemble? I have built 3 x 0-6-0D chassis before.
  16. Glasses I have a normal pair and a computer pair Close up, no glasses VERY short sighted. Messaging. My daughter says that full stops are agressive. So I ALWAYS use them.
  17. Iwata Neo is pretty good value, no idea on compressor as I have an Aldi £50 special in the garage
  18. Last time met at a show, sold out of what I was after
  19. I need to spend around £100 on bits with them but keep getting no response. Does anyone here know him personally and give him a prod to take my order? Thanks Martin 4 x 2D TSO glazing 2 x 2D TSO frames 1 x 2_ABC BSO frames IF he does them 2 x 2_ABC BSO/BFK glazing 4 x 2_ABC TSO glazing Lima 47 Glazing
  20. 4 x 2D TSO glazing 2 x 2D TSO frames 1 x 2_ABC BSO frames IF he does them 2 x 2_ABC BSO/BFK glazing 4 x 2_ABC TSO glazing Lima 47 Glazing
  21. A member on another forum I use, lives in Christchurch and his son is friends with the son of the chap who took bullets to protect his sons. The one on BBC News father and son. It is really hard for him as he knew a few victims.
  22. Simple, you cannot have too many engines. (Well you can like more than 22 production Deltics or 50 50s)
  23. Will be interesting this weekend.
  24. And this is why I access emails via Thunderbird
  25. All I can say is a great loss. I bothered Parkside for years for some Tube wagons and some 21ton hoppers, and yes I bought quite a few. I reckon a quarter to third of my fleet is Parkside
