I have a lot of 1980s formations but here is a sort of list
Quite a few GUV/NKV
The odd BG (NAV/NDV)
Occasional SR bogie van
4 wheelers were mainly BR CCT, and a few SR CCT and PMV
Newspapers were a mix on gangway fitted GUVs BSK and occaionally a BG or Siphon G
65% BR GUV
15% BR BG
3% SR Bogie
2% LMS Bogie
9% BR CCT
6% SR PMV and CCT (end doors different)
Odds SPV (the van)
Siphon G
VERY rough percentages by memory

Going to have a nose through the magazine now!!!!

Nice models, I don't think I could ever be as good.
BTW my favourite ECML machines are a certain English Electric CoCo
-
The 117 has not been properly modelled and it looks like a 117 118 cross.
Basically there have been no usable out of the box suburban DMUs
-
I would buy a few class 116 sets, too. With South Wales valleys destinations as well as Barry Island :-)
And you would need a really tatty NBL Warship as well
-
How about the 3 car DMUs?

Only interested in 3 car sets but I have 2 even if one is poor
-
I have a Triang and a DC kits one
Lots of cars needed.
Different front ends, then DMCL DMBS TCL DTCL and BSL so enough to keep them going

Never had cat but the worst Chinese Takeaway I have ever had was chicken (taste and I think a bone) and I know how it died.
Old Age
-
Aghh I am going to have to buy one of these.
Now do I modify history and pretend D601 escaped with D6122 or do I collect a few green 1960s Diesels?
-
Argueing about Gresley & Thompson. When the real answer is English Electric.

I happen to share you views. Now could I please get your name and address, the hours when you will be alone, Do you happen to live near any tall lamp posts or trees?
You won't find me, I will be invisible
-
I do like the Western but I thought the Warship was ugly

I better check if any of my fleet need mods, got 3 AFAIR, got 6 real numbers to change them to
-
That is a nice looking steam loco for a non British one
The ATSF livery does suit those older locos
-
Hard to think of a translation that won't be blocked by the forum software.
How about "Fat Controller" without the last two syllables?
Thanks - I thought it was the road signs

But there's only three!

Don't worry they had a lot of Cornish Rattler there, I loaded up the caravan with it

I want a pretend preserved D601, I have a photo of it at Woodhams.

I didn't think that I'd be contributing to this thread but I've been on a roll, modelling-wise, and went to use my tube of Squadron Products white putty to finish the job nicely… and it's gone off! It's harder than Ray Winston with two snooker balls in his sock and I have no substitute! Not happy!
Sounds like my paint cans recently. As to R.W. I fight for him most nights.
Loosely connected with mild modelling annoyances is letting things run out before re-stocking to complete a task and finding the supplier has gone away on summer hols......How dare they!
I know the feeling. :dontknow:
Adhesive that prefers to stick things to one's fingers rather than what you're trying to stick it to.
I hate this - but have done better - I held a superglue tube with my lips and yes I temporarily stuck them together.
-
One final thing
As soon as I try scratch building something - someone produces a model.
Tried 73 bevause it was flat sided - Lima
Get some good kits then a better RTR - lots of Coopercraft mark1s - then Bachmann produced theres
-
OK Why do I hate 3 link / screw couplings on buckeye stock?
Because they are a pain to couple and uncouple, and for the job inaccurate, don't mind on end of rakes, but look silly on a rake of Gresley/Bulleid/BR corridor stock, when eg Kaydees are so much more realistic
