  1. By the beginning of the 1980s, these wagons had been largely superceded by the various bogie types and they were taken out of international use. Examples became part of the engineers' fleets, but others retained their van bodies and were classed as VJX or VJB under TOPS. Though they were theoretically still revenue-earning vans, most examples I saw were used as barrier wagons in conjunction with movement of MoD loads in VEA and other air-braked vans.

    Would you see them around Marchwood ?
