    What's the most severe thing I can do to trick or treaters without being convicted?

      Couple of options:

       

      1. Blow an airhorn 

      2. Leave a sign out saying, ‘Doorbell’s broken. Shout ding .’ 

      3. If you have a CD player, put one of Beethoven’s symphonies on, leave it next to your front door and turn up the volume so that they can hear it from outside.
