  1. I have it on good authority from Thomas that Devious Diesel pushed BoCo in the pit for being too smelly.😁
  2. ""Back then you could go just about anywhere on site as long as you kept off the running line."" Back in the days when everyone was responsible for their actions and used that now rare commodity called common sense. But then again there where some who took on very risky jobs without any safety gear who should have known better, as demonstarted by the chap stringing wires on the telegraph pole
  3. It was still open for iron ore trains from the Nassington Quarry which closed in February 1971.
  4. That's for sight seeing tours for those who unfortunately missed out on a trip down the dive under during last weeks diversions.🙄
  5. Only two that I can see that stop at York, 13:47 KX to Aberdeen and 17:15 KX to Edinburgh. Other LNER services that stop at York will be by bus between Peterborough and Doncaster. Realtime trains. https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:PBO/2023-05-17/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
  6. After weeks of piling there is a building starting to be assembled on the old Morgan Sindall site.
  7. Don't miss your train, there are only four LNER heading north from Peterborough in the morning. Have a good journey👍
  8. Those two services that use dive under and arrive and depart platform 7 have been doing so for over a year. 2K17 Doncaster to Peterborough which then returns but only as far as Lincoln as 2K44. Why only that service I don't know. There appears to be no conflicting movements as to why it could not use platform 1 like all the other EMR services on the Joint Line.
  9. The number 91 is most likely the crossing number of which there were hundreds in Lincolnshire. The signal box probably only had a 15 lever frame as it only controlled about half a dozen signals and the crossing gates. Of note are the pivoting red lamps on the right hand side gates. The car that has just crossed on the A52 is about to carry on turning 70 degrees on to Sleaford Road towards Boston. To the left of that car the A1121 Boston to Sleaford road formed a 'T' junction. As the A52 was the 'main road', when the crossing gates were closed to road traffic the gate lamps pivoted in the direction of Boston along Sleaford Road and were not square on to the gates. You could see these lamps from quite a distance away at night time when leaving Boston. Today the road is much wider and the A52/A1121 junction is now a mini roundabout.
  10. I wouldn't think so. Spalding Tulip Parade did not start until 1959.
  11. Another valuable resource being closed down. https://www.dpreview.com/news/5901145460/dpreview-com-to-close There is a petition here if anyone is interested. https://www.change.org/p/stop-amazon-from-closing-dpreview-com?source_location=search
  12. The Lloyds data centre is progressing. We have had the non-stop constant rhythm of piling all day and every day this week. At least Network Rail sent us written warning when they intended to start piling. I guess the state the banking industry is in at the moment that Lloyds couldn't afford the exhorbitant postage costs to send out letters.😁 This was Wednesday, the whole field should be covered with piles by now at the rate they were going in.
  13. Completely OFF TOPIC, but may be of interest to some. Some links to more information. https://ang.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=4f1e69f1f95a4ebb9b27e6e0d4715c5b https://www.anglianwater.co.uk/about-us/our-strategies-and-plans/new-water-pipelines/grantham-to-bexwell-pipeline/ https://docs.planning.org.uk/20210113/161/QL0LWVLL00S00/uqri70xlyv9oj8ym.pdf
  14. The old Morgan Sindall site at Stirling Way getting another make over. Hats off to the contractors though, as they bring a lorry of stone in they use it to take a load of soil away.
  15. Sadly not Martyn, the last deliveries were a year later in 2006 https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/21307118.adnams-horses-make-last-ever-deliveries/ Fortunately, Adnams beer is still being produced, yum!
  16. Delivering beer for Adnams, Southwold 2005, much better than dirty old coal.😁
  17. I should have checked it out more thoroughly, it could have been full of Amazon goodies.😁
  18. Probably the same driver who dumped the van a few weeks ago. Doesn't look to be much wrong with it other than a flat front tyre.
  19. In railway news, Cock Lane has acquired a CCTV camera, road/rail cherry pickers and trolleys have arrived. The three transformers to the left of the white van for the OHLE have been here for a couple of weeks and some of dilapidated pallets of insulators have turned up. Not sure what is going on, the transformers are faded and dirty so may have already had replacements installed. The gentleman had just been inside and probably fired up a diesel generator as smoke can be seen coming through the roof vent.
  20. Things are moving along with the old Morgan Sindall site. I think I prefer to see the field after the deer reclaimed the grazing rights last year. All the fuss about rehoming the Great Crested newts and not a word from anyone about the looking after the deer.
  21. A bit of déjà vu going on here. Different contractors but the same old story, the bridge is in and the topsoil is being moved out. The whole site is covered by camera's in all corners of the field
  22. 😁 There really is no excuse while this is taking so long to finish. It is not setting a good example of keeping your surroundings nice and tidy to the local citizens either, especially when there is flytipping issues in the area.
