  1. Has anyone ever tried making rolling stock, where the weight is scaled just like the size?

      Presumably it's the mass of the original divided by the cube of the scale ratio - so a 20 ton Toad would weigh in at about 46g. The Airfix RTR one I have comes in at 38g. Whether this is enough is opn to question, as a figure of 50g per wagon to get the running right is often quoted.

      That's what I assumed Mr Barton. It really brings into question the scaling of Loco power too. I know that a lot of locos are underpowered for their size, presumably more so if scale weight is used on rolling stock.

      Also the weight of loads would make a huge difference.
