  1. *Gasps for breath*

    I've finally caught up..

Wow! That's absolutely brilliant Andy! I'm absolutely gobsmacked!

Seeing this layout being built has inspired me no end to get off my lazy rear end and get cracking on mine again (I've already built 2 scratch built tunnel portal entrances)

I love the point rodding - what have you used?

  2. The Wills Kit would be great for just the Stools and other gismoes in the Kit, if only there was another GOOD use for the Rods so that half the Kit wasn't wasted.

Andy, would you say that it's just the rods that are out of scale in the kit then?

Not a very well focused photo.

Freebs, as there were two spray cans shewn in a previous photo, would have thought Loftysr,

would spray, but, you never know with him,he is ever so good.

One is gloss green, other is Matt green.

The bridge was made and given to me by the surveyor who was on the real bridge install last year.

    He has a 3D printer.

That just goes to show that all those site visits paid off. That was most generous of him indeed :)

  4. I'll look forward to that Jeff.

Not had much time for modelling recently, but the family are away Camping for a few days, so I took the opportunity to go into the garage last night and have another look at the layout.

I managed to get some battens screwed to the wall and extend the layout by another 9 inches (the board was free-standing, due to garage clutter that I was too idle to move out of the way - now it's gone I can go wall to wall) As a result, I will now be pulling up one of the lines and stretching out the curve into the station...

Only another 5 years and trains will be running...

  5. Inspired by Jeff's amazing drystone walls over on Kirby Luneside, I thought I'd have a go at a quicker, and less insane method...

The substrate is 3mm foamex and scribed to represent the stones. Gaps have been carved out and smaller pieces cut and placed at the foot.

I'm not happy with the painting, but I think the overall effect works.

Also not happy with the static grass, and I think I'll overwork this again when properly dry

And... if you're wondering, Flossy, the curious sheep was scratch made from foamex and cotton wool... :)
