what have you done with all the 00 flexi and paintwork? Has it all gone in the skip???
-
-
This is just a masterpiece of scenery!
-
Looking great.
One quick question - have you ever tried undercoating your models before painting? eg a rattle can of grey car primer prior to putting on the humbrol?
I can recommend this - it's quite cathartic too. White plasticard can take some covering

Absolutely fantastic work Al!
-
Absolutely brilliant Scott!

They've taken it up to Yorkshire...

Morning Lee.
Sad to say, Jock passed away at the start of May.
A lovely guy and great contributor on here. He is certainly missed.
Jeff
That's very sad. My heart just literally dropped at that.
Obviously I've been away for a while and missed that sad news.
Cheers Jeff

Wow. These pics are superb.
This truly is a fantastic slice of rural railwayana - gorgeous!

Have I missed something with Jock?

Stunning

Well, as Adrian has mentioned it, we used to have some Tyvek on the shelf. If I can find it Al I'll pop it in the post.
It's not what I'd call a flat substrate though hence why I disregarded it. We also print on polyurethane (pet) self adhesive vinyl, but that'd likely leave gum and crap all over the cutter blades, it certainly makes a mess of our guillotine!
C6T.
I cut my window frames on self adhesive vinyl. Admittely it's using a dedicated vinyl cutter, so I'm not sure what it would so to the silhouette blades.
Saying that though, I've never had any issue with gummed up guillotines or scalpels...

going to be a masterpiece when done, is that

Wow.
They look suitably heavy now.
That is some pretty serious stuff there - looks amazing.

It's looking absolutely amazing!

Where's the weathering?
I'm waiting on tenterhooks

Absolutely fantastic modelling Scott!

...and as a space (marriage) saving measure, Grindleford is indeed all over Bakewell!
Thank you, I'm here all week, please tip your waitress. C6T.
Damn you. I nearly choked on my Horlicks!
-
this thread has been a great read these last couple of days. It's like Bakewell all over again

Wow! What can I say?
You might have noticed I've not been around for some time (or you might not have) But this was an amazing thing to find. I'm absolutely gob-smacked at both your modelling quality and speed.
I've used Totley tunnel as inspiration for my earlier tunnel mouths and was quite giddy one time when I found myself on that exact same line travelling through Grindleford (sounds like something out of Harry Potter)
Excellent work sir. Excellent indeed.

Love that Store building! Brilliant!
-
This is absolutely breath - taking
But why did they put a wall over the road?
And.
Are you going to random clumps of bushes, gorse etc?
-
I've been away from here for quite a while and I've come back to a monster.
The fell is simply jaw-dropping.
It really makes me want to pack my job in and go live in the garage for the next 6 months just trying to emulate even just a quarter of what you've achieved here.
I
Am
So
Impressed!

I can be quite a perfectionist when it comes to certain things, and if money and time were no object, I'd definitely go down the EM route instead of 00 - I do like things to look right
