  1. Its certificate number 3 of a limited edition of 500
  2. I wonder how many pieces of that loco he has for sale.
  3. Thanks Andy. Is that one decoder altogether, or one in each power car?
  4. Is there any information on what type of decoder will be fitted to this model? Also is the DC version, DCCready. I ask because, although I have ordered a DCC sound version, I am now wondering if I should go for the DC version instead and fit good quality Lenz Gold decoder(s). I am not really interested in the sound, but would of course want to have control of all the lighting functions. Thanks Colin
  5. I can vouch for that with Hornby Dublo 2 rail. I have a Hornby Dublo 2 rail Deltic and 2 rail 8f and both run very smoothly on Peco code 100 track laid to generous radii. (by Hornby Dublo standards)
  6. Ian, I am curious as to why the number of sets remaining would be a factor in your purchase decision.
  7. Easy. Provide one piece of sticking plaster with each set. Affix over mouth, then proceed to assemble the APT-E. No swearing will be heard during assembly. After assembly, take plaster off (swear then as necessary)
  8. I have a Hornby Dublo 3 rail shelf layout higher up on the wall above my main layout. The 1950s and 1960s Dublo technology was designed to run for ever, and the locomotives and track perform as well today as they did when new. If you are thinking of getting your old Dublo out again, I say "go for it". There's lots to be had at reasonable prices on E bay if you want to expand. Two videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1vJ8tuoaUQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpubNaDfE04 I got my first Dublo from Father Christmas in 1957. Here it is on the same talbe at my Mum's house on its 50th Birthday in 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5SemQO3idM
  9. Do you remember the old Yellow Pages advert on TV which showed J R Hartley, played by Norman Lumsden, tracking down a copy of his book Fly Fishing thanks to a listing in the Yellow Pages, following an extensive search. Well, I felt a bit like Mr Hartley when I found this on E bay and purchased it. Its an NIR working timetable and the first one I produced back in 1990 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NIR-working-timetable-May-1990-/291169730524?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=EDAahE8PwOV%252BXCuDaGgpaVpGzvY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  10. Two questions: 1) I note that additional centre coaches can be purchased separately. Can anyone advise what were typical formations? Woudl the "as advertised" 4 car set be realistic, or did this train reguarily run with additional coaches and if so, how many? 2) Interesting that the options are DC and DCC-Sound. Am I missing an option of plain old DCC without the sound? The difference in the DC and DCC-Sound prices is £100 which is well above the price of a traction/lights only chip. Thanks in antipication. Colin
  11. I'm still running mine. Don't forget the Southern Region pacific and Pullman carriages.
