I am no expert here but I fear you are going to find the reversing triangle very difficult to wire up. There are special polarity switching devices but I uspect they may be for DCC

Thank you, a very neat set up!

Can we have a pic of the chassis and motor arrangement please

Ah! At last an appropriate point to raise something with you that I meant to do at Guildex but we were just too busy!
I made an observation on one of our local country lanes relating to horse poo - the velocity of the horse at time of defecation has a significant impact on distribution! I have a feeling that most of you excellently modeled manure would have been deposited while stationary. When the horse is in motion (actually no pun intended but it is rather good!), the results are very much elongated.
A rather scatological point I know but it is good to get these ting right!

Yes, certainly will!

Had this thread regarding Sherbourne Abbas and if you look there, there is a link to a master class in horse poo!

So there would have been a Ruston 10RB drag-line working behind that low relief building in the background pulling plastic weeds from real water? If you thought having real sand on a layout was a bad idea .........

Representing the 'ghost sleepers' is an intriguing idea, maybe a stencil cut out in paper with a silhouette cutter (unless your monster laser can be tamed enough), and some wafting with an airbrush in darker colours.
Once again I am glad I do not have to bother with point dodding!

I am very glad I don't have to bother with point rodding.
Try these people for 'dull' grass and don't ignore the 10mm stuff - that is only 30 inches in 4mm and the length that the grass in the 'wildlife' section of my garden is fast approaching.
I also found my beard trimmer ideal for cutting it back a bit - the static grass not the real stuff!
-
That should have been brass tube of course but what a wonderful idea. Even then that was incorrect as it was in fact a brass section but I don't tink you would fit one of those in an Austin 7 either.
Tha Austin has now moved under it's own R/C power but only forwards and backwards as the steering servo seems not to be working. Faulty servo? Faulty reciever? Faulty wiring? I will get there!
-
And it needs an ash tray (full!), and cigarette burns on the wonderful sofa!

If in doubt I think you should do what you fancy and stick a very large Seagull (or other bird of your choice as not sure of historic distribution of species- but I am sure someone is!), on top of it so you can't see it anyway!

The issue I had was that the low revving motor had a 2mm shaft that was perfect for the worm I had available. I have now managed to rebuild a higher revving motor with the 2mm shaft which was a bit of an adventure but speed is now better. Full public unveiling will be at SWING this weekend - planning to do a post to announce it but time and unforeseen events are conspiring against me - why is nothing ever simple?

I have had no problems with real soil on my Up the Line layout, it has been down for six years now with no problems. One thing I would recomend though is giving it a blast in a very hot oven (when the wife is out!), to just neutralise any organic or living elements.

Spoke to one very dedicated exhibition goer yesterday who went to see you in Beds on Saturday and then me at NEC on Sunday!

Poo! That's what you need now - where there are horses there is ...........

Here Here!

Thanks to everyone for help with this. Have a few Emails out now exploring the 24.5mm axles. Is interesting that Ian found them to be 24.4 which explains why my searches for 24.3 got me no where. I did also try the 'so obvious I didn't think of it' route and tried tuning a long axle down on my lathe, but a combination of it's rather slack and worn out nature and my ineptitude meant I couldn't quite get the end pointy enough and or the correct length. If all else fails I do know a man how would be able to do it and could just end up cheaper than buying wheel sets.

Very nice weathering on green house and great attention to detail overall. In the picture the white of the card does stand out on the edges - a wash with very dilute should sort this out.
-
Great to see you out and about!
Looking at back scene, I think a BIG East Anglia sky would be just perfect - would be happy to oblige,
Kevin.

Construction seems awfully minimal - Are you sure it will work?!!!!!!!

A quick Google suggests it might be Peterborough?

Couplings that will un-couple remotely so less 'HoG'. Am afraid that I really don't like Kadees - fine on other layouts, but not mine. A fuller explanation will follow in next coupling post but at the moment DGs look the favorite.

I am sure that 2832 in the mining museum at Apedale has a horn with a squeezy end probably of the bicycle sort, and am also sure that some but not all have in contemporary pictures. Such adornments would probably not last in place very long in an industrial environment. A sample of some one shouting 'Oi! Gerr out my way' in heavy local accent might be more fitting!
Am also sure that someone is working on a sample (might be for the 40HP though) but can't remember where I found this out. Possibly the 16mm WDLR FaceBook page and although I can't be certain Legoman Biffo might be involved.
Kevin.
