Apart from changing planes in Schipol I haven't even been to the Netherlands. Something I hope to sort in the next year or two. Enjoy your trip!

I used to love looking at Red Bank from up stairs on the bus going along Rochdale Road. All those MK1 and parcels coaching stock. Also you could see the Silcocks Fair winter site which sat just above.

I had forgotten they involved Tammy Wynette which even today is inspired and justified.

Laughing stock is a strange semi official pressing from around 10 years ago. Solo album vinyl was a re-release not too many years ago.

Recommend in a similar vein I Trawl the Megahertz by Paddy McAloon (Prefab sprout). Sadly though the recent release are all miss pressed (off centre).

Hoped against hope that the rumours on Monday weren't true but sadly they are. Currently spinning Spirit of Eden and will move onto Laughing Stock and the solo album before bed. On vinyl of course.

Machu Picchu. Much too far, far too expensive to get to, too high and they feed you guniea pig. 0 out of 5.

Niagara Hilton, water feature kept me awake and drenched me when I went on a boat ride on the lake.

Credit to Tim and MetrOland for the original ideas.

  10. ..is quite happy with the commute home tonight from Manchester Piccadilly to Stalybridge, (usually 14 minutes long), but due to a "brokendown" train outside Piccadilly we were diverted via Oxford Rd, Manchester Victoria and Ashton-U-Lyne. :)

For some of us we only know the route out of Victoria. Lived in London for over 30 years and my last run to Staylebridge was behind a Deltic :-) just before they were withdrawn.

However this route does sound really interesting.

  14. This afternoon I have just endured 73 hours (ish) in the Cinema being forced to watch Mama Mia 2. Whilst my wife (wisely) fell asleep I couldn’t help thinking that the 3 or 4 modelling projects (I have on the go) could have benefited enormously instead.
