  1. I think what Daftbovine is saying is that in South Africa we do not see Parcelforce vans and uniformed staff. Their parcels are delivered by the South African Post Office I.e. Collect at SA Post Office. DHL like UPS have their own employees in their uniform and branded vehicles that make the deliveries and own depots, I collected my parcel yesterday from the DHL depot at Cape Town airport.
  2. I concur as I live in Cape Town. DHL pick up from Hattons Tuesday afternoon and I collected from the DHL depot at the airport. I must add a few of the DHL staff were star performers. Guy at the depot when I phoned to collect upon checking said the parcel had not been released by Customs bug would phone back two hours later. Ten minutes later a DHL employee phones from Johannesburg to say parcel released. I pick up said parcel into my car at depot and the DHL guy phones saying parcel is ready. Good service there. By the way daftbovine (silly moo?) the SA post office have told me that there is a four week backlog at JHB. By the way Parcelforce is NOT like DHL. It uses the SA post office. I have a Parcelforce packet hopefully stuck at JHB because that is where the tracking ends and no SA Post Office tracking number is currently available.
  3. An update. My order is shown as open. I have just received an email from DHL apparently they have collected a parcel from Hattons. Surely not my order placed on 3 October, I have had no email from Hattons. Please be here on Saturday.
  4. Last Tuesday I placed an order to be delivered by DHL. Can take five days to get to Cape Town. Up to pick note stage and no despatch. Enquired by live chat on Saturday to be advised part of my order is at the other warehouse. Once received my order will be despatched. Where is this other warehouse? Next to the main one / shop?
  5. One could read from Dave's post that the meetings did not go according to plan or they did not take place! Would one expect feedback if this was the case? Should Dave advertise to his competitors that things are not progressing as planned? If so "that group across the road" may get some new customers and Dave's crowd funded project stalls. Rhetorical questions from me
  6. Hi Dave, update for N gauge? Will we be paying the next installment as well? Thanks.
  7. I hope this gets made. I am one of those not to have signed up as yet. It is all too easy to fill in my details and hit the send button to register for these crowd funded models but pay later. I have a number (not double figures yet) of commitments with both DJM and Revolution.
  8. From Dave's timescales and a fair wind we could have this loco around April 2018. Seems good to me, cannot wait.
  9. First and unfortunately last time I will be using them. Yes they will no longer ship outside of the U.K. Told it was the decision of the directors, but why?
  10. Sorry in addition to my above comment, I easily located the Revolution Trains year end report!
  11. And the end of year round up report is where? Sorry I seem to have overlooked it. According to DJM Dave it was to be published New Year's Eve. I am interested in the n gauge models.Happy New Year everyone.
  12. As I am an N gauge modeler, I only read this thread so for me it was useful that the post was in both threads. With regard to BigP's post - I think that Revolution for the Pendolino whilst crowdfunded, Rapido can sell the model after X years. I think Rapido own the tooling so I have contributed to the R&D and tooling costs. Admittedly, Rapido underwrote the original crowdfunding shortfall. For me if Rapido / DJM produce further items as long as at a higher price I gain in buying at a discount and having the item years before the "general public". I missed out on the Revolution TEAs and see the premium I need to pay to secure one that has gone straight to the trade.
