Churminster & Stowe Magna, Southern Railway

Your Kirk set makes me feel better about my brush painted BR three coach set. It is old now, like me , the windows were individually applied. With Romford wheels, It runs beautifully. It's part of my modelling history and I love it. As usual, lovely post. Regards, Chris. -
I have a great and dear Friend who has taught me a lot about kit construction. Coach Bogie is my Obi Wan. We have been Friends for over 40 years. I have been a willing sponge for the information he and his late Dad passed on. I know how lucky I am, he has given me loads of encouragement. Thanks Mike. Chris.

I have managed to resist the temptation of a Hunslet. The engine is lovely, but I'm being adult, I have no need for one. I admit, were I to take the plunge, a Geisel ejector would be fitted to it. Just like my Agenoria 'Victory' tank. Colliery lines immediately make me think of the North Staffordshire Railway New L tanks of my youth on the Bridgewater lines.🤣 Keep up the great work Dave, Regards, Chris. PS, your Fowler sends her love. She is working alongside a Geordie Armstrong Whitworth shunting grain wagons about. I have not repainted her, though dazzle buffer beams might be on the horizon. C. -

That brings back happy memories of a Commer Doormobile that Mum, Dad and myself spent a great summer holiday in , in the early 70s. We ended up at the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway, where Dad and I ran the refreshment shed at Sittingbourne. We camped on the Kemsley Down station site. The van was bloody noisey and not particularly fast. She was a swine to restart when hot. Mum revelled in driving her. Regards, Chris. -
Oozes atmosphere. Superb work, Regards, Chris.

I'm looking forward to the Hornby 88. I'm happy with the running of my 48's. If I bought Mike Edge's kit, it would go into the pile that I'm trying to reduce. Anyway, I have to buy one of his six-coupled Sentinels. Love the atmosphere in this shot. An old boss of mine had a 'coke bottle' Viva and I have 'played' with an old JCB too. Now that was an education! Regards, Chris. -

South Pelaw was he best layout at Manchester. This fat old Manc spent some happy hours immersed in the layout. I had a great chat with some of the operators. I'm sorry I didn'st ask your names, but you were great. A superb experience. I may even go to Warley next year , to see it again. Regards, Chris.

She starred in an awful science fiction film, together with David Hasselhof and Christopher Plimmer, called Star Crash. So bad , it was kind of good!! Chris. -

My family had a Hillman Hunter Estate. Great car, it was a shame when we had to get rid of it!

Got one coming, it will join my Yorkshire Engine Janii and the 0-4-0 at Manchester Steel. -
Richard, I agree with you about a class of W1 4-6-4s. Gresley had, of course tried 2-8-2s with the P2s. I'd be interested to see what would have hppened, had they not been 'rebuilt' by Edward. The other 'Hudsons' would have been Stanier's. Now those would have been a brutal piece of kit and I think would have required mechanical stoking to achieve their full potential. I'm sorry, Tony, I'll stop spamming this thread with 'might have beens!' Chris.
