  1. I cancelled my subscription after the poor quality fitment of the boiler and skirts, I'm not prepared to shell out for the cost of the whole subscription if this is how other parts might be.
  2. I'm sure the valences could be cut down to make the non valenced versions, that's I fully intened to do, although I will buy a an extra mag or two for them so I have some spare if I go wrong.
  3. I used Nitromors to soak then rubbed off with wire wool. Worked great, the stripper softened more than actually stripped I think, but worked well with no damage to the etch and no horrible scrape marks.
  4. I looked at the pictures of the mags with boiler parts, they look more resin than white metal now, or is that the photo lighting. It states it's 2kg with tender.
  5. Also.. It mentions you get a free a3 mallard print
  6. I received a letter to say my subscription will start from the end of August, so it's live again. Edd
  7. I can only echo what others have said, maybe having a smaller layout to show larger locos is better. I have been in n and oo gauge and now in 7mm I only have a 5ft end to end until my garden layout is built. My first loco was a Heljan deltic then a Heljan 47, which I'm fully aware of detail inaccuracies, but since then I have purchased JLTRT loco kits, brass built locos to strip and repaint. Am I a rivet counter? No, do I find 7mm a much better presence on a small layout, definitely. If it wasn't for the rtr companies some people seem so keen you put down because they are not perfect I wouldn't have touched a kit, therefore showing that the rtr got me intrigued at wanting to try kits and I'm certainly not a rivet counter. If I have a class 37 that has a few less rivets but looks like a 37 I'm happy. A hobby is what you make it, some people are more detail focused than others. So I find that massive rant telling people to stick to 4mm totally unjustified. I'm not trying to cause offence, but only say that rtr could be a better way to get people started and then be start getting kits and building confidence in want some people think is an elitist scale.
  8. Whilst announcing ever more locos, a HST would be different.
  9. I know this is the 'n gauge' 23.. How is the 7mm version coming along?
  10. So, where does this leave us then if we have subscribed and it's only a 4 part trial? I only opted for this as I have so many builds at the moment this would make life easier for me to get a steamer. Edd
  11. O gauge modern image rolling stock? Or o gauge Dmu's (150, 153 etc). If you want to go crazy, an o gauge hst *dreams*. Edd
  12. I's there any news regarding release dates for the start of the series. Plus, are the rumors true in regards to it being a 4 part trial, as it's not actually showing up on the Hachette Partworks official website. Edd
  13. Fantastic work as usual Brian, 3 are now on order. One to be sector coal, sector to be branded in Loadhaul and one Loadhaul livery! Will you be posting a video of her running on Youtube Brian? Edd
  14. I'd need a couple for railfreight and a one off for 'Teenage Cancer Trust'.
  15. Does anyone know when we will expect the delivery of fgw 2nd's and 1st's?

When will the new run of fgw mk3's expect to be released as I have them on order?
  17. I'd like to further one comment made..... 7mm version please.
  18. Well, when I used to go out and get drunk at weekends I could spend loads...I went to see an AC/DC TRIBUTE band at a local an spent £125 (and felt very fought the next day at the Peterborough model show!) but if I did that every weekend that's 500 a month! I mean the cost of alcohol and cigarettes with fuel on top is terrible.. I wonder how many they will produce of each wagon? Will they tease the market at first?
  19. May be expensive, but I hardly ever drink and quit smoking a year ago...and if better health and a 26ft coal train in the garden is the result... That's a good reason not to smoke any more
  20. Do PR make a flask kit? I know they do a brake tender and snow ploughs.
  21. All you need is to make a nice 7mm 56 to pull te coal hoppers
  22. What about etching a symbol/name/postcode using a hobby tool inside the shell as well as a uv marker? Edd
