  1. So everyone behaved themselves at Warley then?
  2. It is always a good year - whatever the year - to model Scottish Railways
  3. Cook Station in the Nullabar Desert in Oz in September 2004 when the Indian Pacific stopped for its fuel stop. Wow it was hot! Train conductor about to give the right away and fortunately I was not left behind! More desert pictures please!
  4. How about the original Deltic at Doncaster in 1959 with A3 60046 Diamond Jubilee in the background? And next - something with red brick terrace houses in the picture?
  5. First one the un-named Britannia 70047 heading north up Beattock Bank in 1964. And then an unknown Class 40 heading south around the same location again in 1964. Well it was a Type 4 in those days! What about a picture of your favourite locomotive next?
  6. Those of us from the Northern Powerhouse don't enjoy that weak London beer - and certainly not at those prices. We can buy a terrace house for the price of one of your pints up here.
  7. Wild card Time? How about anything north of the border - any border you want! This one is of a Caledonian 4-4-0 in the early sixties on a railtour at Glasgow Central complete with whiskered green DMU in the adjacent platform and maroon sleeping cars just arrived from 'over the border' in Platform One.
  8. The Laughter Lines cartoon (p1047) shows the guy got more done on his layout before he got himself a computer. Is there a hidden message there?
  9. A red Duchess heading south on a Perth - London at Cleghorn in Lanarkshire in 1964
  10. Sorry boys too excited about putting the picture up. How about another Class 26 or Class 27 in another livery?
  11. A pair of Sulzers at Birkhill on SRPS Bo'ness to Kinneil line (2009)
  12. Your 39 Steps and the Forth Bridge reminded me of my own portrayal of John Hannay on a SLS visit to the Bridge in August 1967 . Apologies for this picture appearing before on RMweb.
  13. Glenfinan Viaduct (Harry Potter) from Glenfinnan Monument with Black Five 45407
  14. Yes took the pictures myself. I recall this visit to Beattock Shed with a railway enthusiast friend who had a contact there. Who knows maybe our paths crossed with your relative. I don't have any names apart from the friend I went with. And yes we were privileged to get a footplate trip up Beattock Bank with the banker and back light to the shed. Agreed something which would certainly not happen today. Attached are a few more of Beattock which might be of interest. The picture of Beattock South box with the line of bankers and the Cl;ass 40 was taken a few years earlier. Hope I am not going off topic.....
  15. BR Standard 2-6-0 76090 on Beattock Shed not long before closure in the mid 1960's. Detail of its well lubricated valve gear. Second shot of the same locomotive in the yard.
  16. ex GWR 2-6-2 tank 4168 at Birmingham Snow Hill with a couple of Mermaids in two - picture taken in 1964. Also the trackwork in the second photograph and the station approach looks a modeller's nightmare - again taken on the same day.
  17. A new day and no new topic? Has this posting reached the end of the line?
  18. Found another red one - Carlisle Upperby breakdowin crane fired up and ready to go - mid 1960's.
  19. Over the pond to Toronto - or as the locals call it Torronno - and a streetcar in May 2013
  20. Black and white images of Blue Trains at the now closed Bridgeton Central Station Glasgow 0n 18 January 1962
  21. 78046 at Princes Street Station Edinburgh with two Caley Coaches on Railtour. Sorry cannot find the date at the moment.
