  1. Heres a WIP video of the cold start, shutdown and warm start. Cold start is virtually there, shutdown and warm start require work. i think another 2 weeks and it'll be completed all being well.
  2. thanks Larry, I assume its painful because the loco is lurching side to side on the rollers? I used a rather large sugar cube speaker (30x19) in the smoke with a good enclosure which make a huge difference tot he depth of the exhaust
  3. Well, the 20 is as good as there and have released a video. The turbo whistling has been liked by my phone too much thus has amplified the whistling abit. Its a unique 20 project as the engine hunts, a lot, due to it having governor issues. wouldn't want a 20 to sound like everyone elses now would I! I've also finally got round to releasing a video of my slightly worn black 5. Key features of this one is a leaking cylinder gland, a cylinder cock that will randomly jam open when you use it and its abit more sluggish to drive! Currently working on the Class 50 and will then start the Ivatt 2mt. Hope you enjoy the clips
  4. I have got a 121/heritage DMU planned, every-time i have planned to take 55023 out, theres always been something stopping from recording it
  5. A short WIP video of my Class 20 project. cold start only and shutdown. full demo video to appear next week
  6. There's a picture of the damage circulating on Facebook. My best guess is that its engine (not the loco itself) will be stripped for parts
  7. Had a quick look on there, it appears to be for an O gauge 64XX pannier. Speaking of a 64XX pannier, ive also got a full set of recordings for that class too
  8. Class 20 recorded and a new Class 50 project on its way
  9. I've just started the Ivatt 2mt, from a brief listen to my recordings, it will be a belter
  10. I've always found that you need to reset the starting voltage after cv54=0
  11. Well, If i was asked, i'd have no issues putting a 9F whistle on the black 5 project so you could have either the 9F whistle or Stanier hooter with the alteration of a CV number
  12. As soon as i have got the rest of my recordings, i'll crack on with it! Thanks for the kind words Larry. They sound much better going round a layout, the deep exhaust really comes out when you're a good couple of feet away. I may add the stanier mogul to my list next year.
  13. Just completed a 9F...Spent quite a while on this one to get it right. Hope folk enjoy it Next projects i'll be working on over the next 6 months will be a 64xx, Ivatt 2mt, 8F, Class 20, Class 50, Class 45 and a Class 31. looks like i'll be a busy chap for a while!
  14. I've just finished working on a BR Standard Class 9 sound project. Did a small video to illustrate my second attempt at a 9F
  15. All recordings are from locos on preserved railways.careful sound editing in simple terms. it takes me hours to get it, what i think, is right to avoid the typical machine gun sound you get from some steam sound chips. this is also a small element of programming the chip too
  16. Black 5 project thats just been completed. no working on a very worn version.
  17. Stay alive is a capacitor you fit to a dcc chip and gives it a a bit of power when it loses power from dirty track or point frogs
  18. fit a stay alive and that'd help with the pick up issues
  19. The clicking noise is the crosshead driven vacuum pump - a feature which all GWR locos have when running. Since GWR locos only have a large ejector, the vac pump, in theory, maintains the vacuum to 25 Hg without the ejector being used when in motion. https://youtu.be/QzTnQWWSQc0?t=4m19s
  20. I used a ESU loksound V4 loaded with the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway 1366 sound project (recorded and made by me). i made my own stay alive with 5 100uF smd capacitors i fitted round the sugar cube speaker in the bunker. sound file will be available next week - if you want more info, drop me a pm. watching the video, i does appear a slight trace of flicker is creeping through, will tackle it when im feeling brave enough to take it apart again! Jamie
  21. another fine beast from the GWR to add to my sound project library - 1366 class. the 3rd (and final) version of the 1366 that i have done
  22. Here's mine fitted with sound, stay alive and flickering firebox (not visible in the clip). Sounds are my latest sound project.
  23. I also have had fantastic service from Colletts models. Pre ordered a Heljan 1366 '1369' and it arrived the day after it was released. Oh, and they'll also price match too.
  24. I'm glueing the buffers back a little on my model. End of the day, sprung buffers are pretty pointless
  25. Anyone interested, I have provided a sound fitting guide in the DCC fitting section
