  1. Afternoon all, I have on my layout a Peco turntable which at present is operated by handwheel directly through the side of the baseboard. I`ve tried different types of power sources but none gave a smooth rotation, it tending to be rather jerky. Disconnection from the worm and wheel seems to be an improvement. My question is, has anyone any experience in using the motor/gearbox combination by Igarashi as found in the Expo catalogue?. Also from Expo, i was given one of their airbrushes ,Code AB725 and wondered if anyone has any experience of using one of these. Thanks and cheers for now, Jim.

    Camden Shed

Hi Iain, I joined this site after seeing your progress in pictures last week. Very impressive. Like you, i`m building Camden but not on your scale. Mine is concentrating on the depot with the coal tower, ash hoist, engine shed and turntable as the main building structures. It`s an end to end being built in the garage down one wall measuring 17ft x 2ft. The track is down and wired for DCC. Some ballasting has been done but the next build is the shed now i`ve almost finished the coal tower. Made loads of mistakes along the way but good fun learnig from. Jim.

    Irritating!

Hi Rich, The layout is a modified plan of Camden MPD around late LMS/ Early BR days. The usual modeling license is used frequently but space depicts it necessary. The track plan came from an LMS rating plan at 1inch to 40 ft. The drawing measures 104" x 40". I`ve put a small potted history on my blog with a couple of pictures. Jim.

    Irritating!

Hi Rich, I`ve just been looking at your pictures on your blog. I`ve only just joined the site so am new to all the bits and pieces on here. The pictures took me back to my layout building in the loft, two starts and no completions due to children coming along and storage space required! Taking up the challenge again, i moved into the garage and am building an end to end down one wall. You`ve certainly progressed further than i ever did. I always found a joist just where you wanted to put something!. Good luck with the electrics. Jim.

Hi everyone, Just found my way on to the site. Presently building a model of Camden MPD with modified track plan owing to the usual space restrictions in 00 gauge. Started from scratch in the garage 4 yrs ago as a solo modeller so progress is fairly slow. To date, the track is laid and wired for DCC operation. Some ballasting has been done. All points and diamond crossings are hand built using copperclad sleepers and code 75 rail. I started to build a reduced size engine last year but that was a disaster as the glue used warped everything badly. To help things along iv`e scratch built the Ash Hoist and am 90% into the coal tower both made in plasticard. Ladders need to be fitted to the coal tower and the small control cabins made then both stuctures sprayed and weathered. Iv`e included a few pictures of the two models.
