  1. Here’s a mint spare panel that’s going to get some switches soon, red marker switch has centre off.
  2. 25s to their end only showed one red marker light and totally impossible to switch both on at the same time (as I sit her looking at a lighting control panel lol). Will be somehow sorting it when I get 2 blue beauties.
  3. Grills didn’t get removed, they placed the plate on top of the grill. The ones that had the grill completely removed were part of a bodywork program that included new roof panels which was stopped in the end
  4. So what do you paint with your feet after taking LSD then. lol
  5. I hope the poor soles who have ordered the Heljan 25 get the blanking plates for the grills and steps
  6. Catches have been removed and a lock point put on, I would take a wild guess it could have been somebodies tool box from Vickers for obvious reasons.
  7. 97252 has at some time been coupled up to coaching stock that hasn't had the buffers extended and corridor connection has hit the cab
  8. Or just left on shed ticking over. Wonder who can figure out the damage on 97252 (no prizes) lol
  9. Tricky one for sound, all the aux motors were left in and used. Even the compressors were left in so the ETHEL could be used in a static role (air required for engine control)
  10. My latest delivery to keep me busy while on furlough.
  11. No EH generator fitted, power taken from main and the aux gen left alone to power aux motors. Hope you can get into the ETHEL cab as there are a few mods to the cab required vs normal cab.
  12. Some nice weathered rust pots as they were end the end with BR and some more 25/9s, not just the polished tu@d that was 25912
  13. Wondering if a job at "Manchester Victoria Depot" is really Red Bank reborn

I used to love looking at Red Bank from up stairs on the bus going along Rochdale Road. All those MK1 and parcels coaching stock. Also you could see the Silcocks Fair winter site which sat just above.

  14. Yup, cheaper than the price tag of £30k for a new set at the time which was the cost of a descent 25/3
  15. Remember that unit well, was always on charge at a time when putting any other loco’s on charge was a no no. Off now to continue the 25/3 debate on the Sutton thread lol
  16. Here's a couple from (I think) Dec 2005 while visiting the estate
  17. One of the LMS shunters that went to Italy was still working a few years ago in industry, 75 yrs service approx.
  18. Must say that AY Mod must be having a good day as there’s no sign of a dummy being spat out, well done AY
  19. The air pipes seem ok but not sure about the vac bag but other wise a good looking type two lol
  20. For Gods sake, if you want to nitpick at anything can I point out that it is powered by an electric supply and not a diesel power unit. Will I be buying one, yes. Will I be binning my Bachmann ones, no. Will even keep my Hornby couple. Cant wait to have one in my hands to see whats it's like and yes there will be errors but to me in general it looks good. Having spent way too much time on the real things I will hold finial judgement til then. One last point I will make is that all the debate seems to be about the body. Do we know the chassis won't turn banana in a few years, will it make horrid noises when running and will the lights work correctly ie no two red marker lights on at the same time (pet hate). Heljan could have taken the easy route and not produced the model in which case all the haters would now be on the Bachmann page. Anyway I 'll leave it at that and all of you stay safe.
  21. It's OK for me, I'm doing 20303 and sticking it in a siding with no lights on like the prototype lol
