I don't think that there is a Loch Down in either Scotland or Ireland.  There is however a Loch Doon in Scotland and an 8.5% Loch Down 'Scotch' ale brewed by the Arcadia Brewing Co. in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

    I've got a girl there!

 always a pedant, isn't there???

Now look, that is obviously a ceiling-mounted Corgi.

A pedant-mounted Corgi would be attached by a flex to a ceiling rose.

Oh hang on - that’s peNdant isn’t it.......

Thanks for going to the trouble to post all the info and anecdotes - makes for a very interesting thread.

  4. A true tale from the very early '80s.

Took a ferry from Westminster Bridge to Greenwich - the Cockney crew ran an 'unofficial' commentary that caused much entertainment (and was a very insightful view of London through local eyes).

When we came to the area known as Docklands -

"Ladies an' gentlemen, if you take a look on the sarf bank you will see some of the docks an' wareharses wot has been bought up by the Arabs and wot is bein' turned into luxury houses an' flats.

They have done more damage in three months than wot Jerry did durin' the whole of the war".

Sorry grumpy today, as its been 40 degrees C in Melbourne today and the last thing on my mind is a heated seat! One full of ice cubes might be a better idea.
