Probably somewhere between my photos on a grey December afternoon and this one, which seems a bit too bright, from memory. -

Class 503 proposals for the Isle of Wight
Tim Hall replied to roythebus's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
As a student of Liverpool Poly, living in Birkenhead in 1985 when they were being run down and withdrawn, I travelled on them almost daily. Loved them, can't remember much about the riding qualities though. Took a few pics including of the last service train, which carried a headboard.- 28 replies

Mallaig and the Road To The Isles

My last interruption, I promise, from onboard The Jacobite: -
Alternatively, put a dab of glue of your choice on their feet and lower them through the aperture using tweezers. It's a bit hit and miss, but good results usually come with persistence.

Some snaps from the bridge end of the station and also of the previously bare corner which now has 54 trees "planted". All the scenic areas have now been at least covered. There's a lot of tidying up and detailing to do. Oh, and fitting passengers to over 250 coaches.....Virtually all locos have suitable crew already.

I lied! Found some from the end of loco hauled trains on the Rhymney branch (until last year of course). Caerphilly. 6th December 2005. 33207

Since I started planning the railway, I've had a plan for the scenic breaks beyond which there would be no scenery. I had decided to have a slightly implausible tunnel spanning four tracks on the narrow section under the Velux and a bridge/ flyover thing beyond the main station area. Having more spare time available than usual, I've had a go, though they're aren't necessarily finished. Also a few random snaps of recent happenings.

Ha, I like what you did there! The green one at Swanage will be D6515 (33012). My last pic on the subject is a throwback to the 90s.

We were just down the hill from the High School. Morar is stunning, stayed a night in a B and B there in 1996 (now a Thai restaurant) and had the obligatory walk on the beach then and in 2018. I look forward to seeing your layout developing, and hope that you get back up there soon. -

Indeed, we are almost certainly going next year, back to the same house where we stayed in Aug 18, with views of trains leaving Mallaig below us: -

Should have been staying there this week, with a trip on the Jacobite, but obviously we're not. I have got a couple of photos over the years which might be nearly almost interesting. 19th July 1985 37049 7th September 1988 37410 -
