Sorry no, it sounds like the new Hornby 5 pole (as fitted to their rehash of Lima railcars 73s etc, but I can't easily get into it as there's a sheet of plastikard glued across the chassis between the bogies. I may have to cut that loose to gain access to fit crew though, which might give me more clues. I'll take some snaps later, when I'm in the rather warm attic.
  2. So I see. I rather overlooked that in my excitement ( ), especially as that's the one I acquired from the first run Apologies to those who are now prematurely agog...
  3. The new versions are being sent out from today, according to FB. Almost physically excited

Thanks. I need to sell the incomplete one ASAP to help fund it!

An opportunist purchase from Hattons. Silver Fox body on what sounds like a newish Hornby 5 pole motor. Very smooth, quiet and romped effortlessly on 8Mk1s. I had bought an unfinished one with a Lima chassis a few months ago, but will now sell it on eBay, as this one is better than I could achieve. Although it has transfers for the numbers and I had bought etched ones for the unfinished one, I think I'll leave it as it is, and sell the etched numbers on, as the transfers are neatly done and slightly smaller than the etches.
  6. Thank you, Kernow. Time to put the Bachmann one on eBay.
  7. According to their FB page, the new versions have docked in Southampton today (ship assisted!) and should be going through customs.
  8. D603 finally arrived from Kernow. Cracking model and an excellent runner. The other hydraulics popped out to greet it. The N7 is Oxfords best so far. I think I've got enough 33s now.
  9. I think so, very rarely go into the City Centre
  10. Voila! I bought off you via eBay. Here it is about 3 years ago, before the layout was ballasted.
  11. It worked the DMU diagram on the Glos and Warks yesterday but was removed part way and replaced by the class 26, with a reoccurrence of the same issue (bearing?) that caused issues elsewhere, according to a friend who was onboard.
  12. Also picked a copy up today, and have had a very quick look through now that I'm home. Excellent, and now confiscated until my birthday in August....
  13. We've had a blackcap singing in the park over the road for a couple of weeks now, and another one a few hundred metres away. Usually only get one for a couple of days on passage, as we also seem to with chiffchaff and willow warbler, both of which passed through very quickly a few weeks ago. Elsewhere, have caught up with quite a few summer visitors, and have twitched green-winged teal locally, my first ever citrine wagtail (stunning male) in the Brecon Beacons, and 3 dotterel a few mins from M4 J26 last Monday (they've gone now).
  14. I've driven three 15 inch gauge ones, a lot of fun. My avatar shows my then small daughter and me on "Sludge", usually at Evesham but visiting Perrygrove a few years ago. Had several days driving it up and down the 1 in 29 on a couple of coaches (it's now air-braked for the purpose), also drove "Pylon" regularly there and also a privately owned visiting one.
  15. ....DCC fitted. Sold the chip for £10..... very pleased
  16. A surprisingly easy drive from Cardiff got me to Alresford in plenty of time for the 1030 yesterday, did a round trip to Medstead behind each loco and then the 47 to Ropley for the Ivatt straight back. First visit for over 4 years. The stations were looking very smart, but the trains didn't seem very busy.
  17. At some point soon, the number of posts on this thread will exceed the number of model locos he's actually sold.....
  18. Found this on a Severn Valley Railway Facebook Page: "Allelys Heavy Haulage take to the screens! Train Truckers is a 6 part series following our specialist rail teams and will be aired on UKTVs Yesterday Channel. Stay tuned to our social channels for release dates!"
