  1. Well, as you are asking - I really needed the 6-coupled version (great though the announcement of the 0-4-0ST version is). Oh, and in 7mm as well if possible. Not too much to ask is it? The sooner you get started (it will need scratch-building I think, in either scale), the sooner an RTR example will appear. Thanks in advance (LOL) Steve
  2. Hi Simond, No offence, but whenever I see one of those Thule top boxes from behind, I can't help thinking that it is a tight fitting coffin for a very large cat (LOL). OK, that's just me then? Regards Steve
  3. Great pictures, although the last one looks like you are thinking of modelling a through working to Woodhams scrapyard! Presumably the 57XX welded tanks/top feed are still on schedule for the end of the year? Regards Steve (who definitely isn't interested in one, not in the slightest, couldn't be further from my mind, perish the thought, cross my heart and hope to win the lottery, never going to happen.....)
  4. Interesting detail there, of the support structure under the GWR 'Pagoda' building at the rear of the platform (lower picture). Steve
  5. Excellent work and not a pig to be seen anywhere - 'peppered' or not! ;-)
  6. ... and because those operators will be viewing the changing rooms from the other side of the curtains! Steve (red faced)
  7. I've selected 'Friendly/Supportive' this time, as there does not seem to be one marked 'Deeply Disturbing'.
  8. Beautifully modelled Chris. However, I should warn you, that if your next post features a scale representation of the said horse 'Nimrod', being ridden by a certain Pepper Pig, then I am afraid I shall have to 'Unfollow' this topic forthwith (traumatic though that might be). Respectfully Steve N ;-)
  9. Judging by the amount of rivets on the strapping for the cab steps, they must be ex-girder bridge off-cuts! No wonder they never bent ;-) Steve N
  10. Just like to point out that I 'liked' your post on the grounds that I 'like' that you have gone to all this trouble for your grandchild. Would not want anyone to think that I necessarily like the colour you have painted the loco (LOL). Now where did I put those travel sickness pills?
  11. Presumably, after a couple of these, you will end up completely, errr, 'legless'?
  12. I have been a regular visitor to mid-Wales since 1985 (up again next week, for the end of May Bank Hols). The problem, is that people there just talk about 'Mac' and 'Aber', so opportunities to confront the full spelling of their respective names are few. Even after all these years, I can (just) spell 'Aberystwyth' without recourse to a map, Google, etc. but, err 'Mac' still gets me in a pickle. Not helped by the fact that early-on (for some reason) I got it into my head that it was actually 'Macyllinth', as in 'Maccy Linth' (I sometimes still think that to myself even now), its a bit like an 'ear worm', but with spelling rather than a song/tune (LOL).
  13. Wow! I am really envious. What a great job, you should be very proud.
  14. In view of these recent postings, your therapist has asked if you wouldn't mind coming in a bit earlier for your usual Monday morning session, as there is clearly a lot more work to be done!
  15. Great photos Paul! Takes me back to last May, when I (finally) got to travel north from the 'other' platform there, behind NG/G16 #87; Fantastic trip, but a long time (out and return) to be sat on narrow gauge coach seats (my poor old B*M!). Steve
  16. Pretty sure you are correct about Towyn. Certainly by 1980, the use of grenades in the town centre after 19:00 was frowned upon Steve
  17. Hi, Good to meet you in the flesh at 'Trainwest' today - great layout and 'respect' for taking the trouble to come all the way down from that far 'up north'. Must study the layout photos in more detail now, to see evidence of the yard's apparent rat infestation That's what happens if you leave all that rubbish lying about.
  18. As I said, if well maintained you are OK. But if the galvanising is compromised, it's just your common-or-garden steel underneath - you only have to look at vessels tied up in port, to see what a maritime environment can do. Just saying ;-)
  19. Just noticed - would that be a 'Crittall' steel-framed window in the coach end? Great if kept well maintained and painted, just don't let them get rusty - the Devil's own job to fettle them back into good order. Not perhaps the best choice for a seaside location, but probably easy then to pick up from a demolition yard.
  20. Lets hope it not coming from the 'Boghouse'!
  21. How will you be handling the 'ends' of the layout, scenically? Will the vinyl be along the back only, or will it curve round (assuming you could keep that in tension anyway, especially with track access holes in it)? Steve
  22. To be fair, there is a 'mountain' directly west of Tonfanau (Mt. Leinster, on the border of Counties Carlow and Wexford in the Republic of Ireland), but you need a really, really good pair of binoculars to see it (LOL). Apologies, its been a very long day and a horrendous journey home from work tonight. Steve
