As other have said I saw this in the flesh at Statfold Barn over the weekend and no photo in this thread, no matter how good, in my opinion does any justice to how wonderful this really looks! A really charming layout that you are instantly convinced is of a real place.
Thank you so much Karl 🙏

I had a great weekend at the Statfold Model Railway Exhibition showing “Glenadam Distillery”
It was great to meet fellow RM webbers 👋
I’ve had some interest from other exhibitions so I should hopefully be exhibiting at a few more next year.
it was a busy weekend but I managed a few photos.
Thanks all 🥃

I agree it was fantastic to see the layout in the flesh, rmweb doesn't do it justice, it's superb.
Thanks very much Alex, much appreciated 🙏

It was great to meet you and see Glenadam Distillery in the flesh at Statfold, Adam! Were I without dogs I could have very very happily given you a break and played trains for an hour or two. What can’t be conveyed in RMWeb is how beautifully it runs. All the best, Andrew
Thanks very much Andrew, it was great to meet you too (and the dogs of course!)
Thank you for your kind words, if in future you are available you’d be more than welcome to come and operate the layout.
Best regards,
Adam

Hello all,
Just a reminder that I’ll be exhibiting “Glenadam Distillery” at the Statfold Model Railway Exhibition next weekend.
I had the layout out last night to check things over and tweak a few bits. I grabbed a few photos before packing it away again.
1. The layout fully set up.
2. Scottish allocated 3F ‘47536’ fresh from St Rollox works on a running in trip to the Distillery to pick up some wagons.
3. J72 ‘68733’ leaving the distillery with a wagon full of filled casks, over the newly lowered bridge.Cheers! 🥃

Oh, it was no criticism, I can assure you, and I phrased my post badly. Your bridge fits how I might imagine such a scene, and it is quite delightful.
No no I appreciate the feedback, it helps me learn as I model.
I’m glad you like the layout!
Best wishes,Adam.

For minimal height of a bridge over a stream, take a look at this layout:
Now, to my mind, the bridge is too low - there isn't enough space for beams under the rails, whether they run lengthways or crossways. I might well be alone in my thoughts since no one else has commented on it, or perhaps we are all too polite to mention it (I didn't post in the original thread), but "polite" is the wrong word. Scenic modelling isn't about striving for accuracy, but creating an impression. Glenadam Distillery looks wonderful to me, a look that is in no way lessened by having a seemingly impossible bridge right in the middle of it. I only wish I could make something as good.
Thanks for pointing that out! I’ve honestly never noticed that.
I’ll definitely correct that before the first exhibition in two weeks! Saves more folk pointing it out! 😁

I’m looking forward to adding the Scottish variant to my collection!
Although judging from the fact that we haven’t seen decorated samples yet I’d imagine that Q2 is more likely going to be Q4.

The models look great but those lamps really aren’t good, I’d much rather leave them off completely, it’s great to see they are trying to innovate with them but if it ends up ruining the model it will be a disappointment.

I’d convinced myself it was an 8F 😂 !

LMS 8F, LMS crimson version for the collectors club, same as they did in N gauge… Please 😁

Evening everyone,
It’s been a few months since I’ve posted any updates, the only real change has been the addition of some point levers, such an obvious thing that was missing but something I completely overlooked, situation now rectified 😄
I’ve also received Hornby’s new 2MT locomotive which has been weathered and details now added.
Here’s a few pictures from today as I’ve had the layout out to test the new loco.
Cheers 🥃

My 2MT has just arrived from TMC, I made use of their weathering service before they shipped it to me.
I'm super impressed with the model and the weathering the guys at TMC have done, for £20 extra it’s well worth it just to knock that ex works finish off the loco.
Looking forward to getting it on my distillery layout this evening 😁

When I saw Scottish class 20s I immediately thought “ooooh BR green with tablet catcher???”
Not to be this time, but we can’t have everything we want! 🙂

Never had these problems with design clever. 😋
One piece moulded handrails are the future!
No gaps in those…not even where you’d want them 😁

If you can see past the gap in the handrail….Tony’s trains of Rugby has some DCC ready & DCC sound 7812 Erelstoke manors in stock if anyone is still looking for one 🙂

People will literally complain about anything…
I’m sorry but a tiny gap like that does not take away from what is an outstanding model in my opinion.

Fresh from St Rollox locomotive works on a running in trip somewhere in the Scottish lowlands, away from its usual station pilot duties at Glasgow Central Station.
