I’m sorry but a tiny gap like that does not take away from what is an outstanding model in my opinion.

Not sure if it’s been suggested before but an interesting model that would fit in with many layouts…

Mine could be doing nothing other than powering the firebox flicker but the second I lift the loco off the tracks it stops, just like a loco with no stay alive would do.

I’ll be messaging the AS guys after the weekend to get the support they have offered.

All of the pickups from loco and tender are wired together on the PCB in the tender if your Manor is manufactured correctly / the same as mine. So you should get stay alive even if the tender pickups are not working consistently.

 

I purchased as a DC model but I have put a gaugemaster chip on the model, another silly question but does it have to be a chip purchased directly from AS?

The stay alive on my manor doesn’t seem to be working, upon investigation none of the pickups on the tender are touching the backs of the wheels so it’s picking up on the driving wheels only.

Silly question but does the stay alive just use the tender pickups or does it use all the locos pickups? 
I’ve had the loco sat on the layout for quite a while to ‘charge them up’ but the second I lift the loco or go over a insulated frog point the loco stops dead.

I can adjust the pickups but I don’t want to mess with it if it ends up having to go back for a look at.

Does the stay alive work well on everyone else’s models?

There was a Hornby delivery schedule document floating around a month or so back that had the collectors model of 78022 on it, showing it as expected into the warehouse around August.

It would be interesting to find out if they were oversold by Key or if the production run didn’t complete the 500 examples.

Gutted for the collectors who didn’t receive their models.

1. Maybe they have told you Monday as a worst case scenario?

2. Maybe they only have one person packing and dispatching? 
3. Maybe they are packing and sending in relation to when they received the order? (Mine arrived yesterday but I ordered on the day they were announced).

4. All above could be incorrect but keep complaining on a forum isn’t going to speed up delivery to you.

Just a chancer, a number of retailers still have stock available to preorder as well as AS having leftover stock to shift too.

They are being shipped out, mine updated yesterday to ‘In Transit’ with an updated RM tracking number, due for delivery on Wednesday so yours may arrive before the weekend.

What a beautiful Engine this is. Smooth and almost silent (on DC at the moment). Will I eventually fit a Sound Programme? That depends on if there is a genuine 'Bark' on someone's product.

The finish is one of the best I've ever seen on a RTR WR Loco. Thank you Accurascale.

This is the first video I’ve seen of the sound, the bark sounds good to me!

I’ve changed my preorder from a DCC ready to a sound model after seeing this!

Has the sound file in the manor been tweaked since the video last year or is it just the speaker set up?

I’ve heard nothing either, not since the 11th October 2021 when I preordered it. I’ve had the DCC ready version, not sure if they are contacting sound folk first or something like that? 

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Manors were already in the warehouse awaiting dispatch once the current batch of 37s is complete.

We’ve seen how crazy modellers get when they know models are sat awaiting dispatch.

You might all be tracking planes carrying no Swindon inspired products at all…
