  1. Local timber merchants are a tad pricey and do not offer to cut the wood locally unless I drive down to Lincoln and find a way to fit the boards in my small Fiesta. Any suggestions for cheap baseboards?

      Outskirts of Donny at Armthorpe have a timber yard and helpful cutting service. I think B & Q might be a lot more friendly and flexible.

      My local IKEA store has a rack full of delivery packing (all free !) there's often some small pallets and chipboard sheets. These have damaged corners etc but I've trimmed those bits off with a saw or covered them with scenery.
