Sadly my eye sees little things stand out like a sore thumb!! They are very tricky and due to their nature of having the beading makes getting a nice bend difficult!!
-
Beautifully made and v clean! Talk about the age of elegance, all those curves. I have a kit under the bench, any issues in construction?
None at all Kevin. Delight to build. Slight modification on the inside valve gear to make it easily removable as opposed to being trapped. The only area to be careful of is the splashers as they are very frail, so care in soldering to make sure they don't warp. Other than that, look forward to seeing yours!!

DO NOT PAINT!
If it was mine I wouldn't!!
-
What's the livery going to be?
The early Drummond green livery still with brass beading to the splashers

Thank you Grahame.
It's quite surprising how much effort is needed to photograph models and parts to a standard that is worth posting, so people that do post regularly have my respect!
Two more locos on the go now, a SR King Arthur and GWR broad gauge Rover. Pictures when I can!!!

Not sure about that Castle, but not having CSI 2 next to CSI 1 would drive me mad
-
Superb model and all credit to you for a quality build.
Will it be at the Brizzle show at the end of this month by any chance, I'd love to see it.
Grahame
Thank you Grahame
Yes, it will be on display at Brizzle for those wishing to see it

Beautiful, must be very hard to let it go! Wish I was living in Brizzle at the moment.
I have to say that of all my builds this is one that I can't stop looking at! Lol!
-
A few more little things to do before delivery to it's owner at Brizzle.
-
Any update since?
Updates just about to be posted!!
-
Is this a kit? If so, whose?
Yep, kit built from Modern Outline Kits
-
Thanks Dave
Funnily enough I am building another.............................That will be painted to though!!
-
I know! Hopefully though the wow factor of the livery will make up for it!!
-
Gosh, that's neat work. Do you actually use solder?!!
Wonderful!
It costs more so it's optional :-)
-
I know! I have considered building one for myself and leaving it just like this!!!

When building to this standard it pays not to do to much in one go! If you do to much then cleaning up becomes a chore. A little thought as to what you can reach to clean before fixing parts always helps to give rewards in the end. After every session of building then a good wash in warm water, and I use bar keepers friend to remove stains and marks.
As for the dome and chimney, (I forgot the safety valve bonnet!!) it's best to remove any marks with emery paper as files can leave scratch marks. The final Polish is with good old brasso on a felt pad in a mini drill. Then keep polishing!!

Hello Grahame
Many thanks for you kind words!
They really are some of the most elegant designs of engines, and a Duke is very soon to follow too, but that is for me so will have to wait for now!
-
A beautiful locomotive with a very high standard of finish. You have every reason to be very pleased.
Thanks Mike, although this is not for me but a commission! Hopefully the customer will be happy!
-
Thanks chaps, although when a kit is this well designed it's difficult not to get good results! More to follow soon!

The great irony is that Martin, having been motivated to start his trailblazing kit range by a Saint, never got round to producing a Saint kit....
I asked Martin about producing one once. His reply? Not commercially worth it!! I would have had several!! Same response for a 57xx pannier!!

The painting and lining was done to his usual high standard by Warren Haywood. Couldn't recommend his work enough!!!
