  1. Ebay item 371107843782 painted with Screaming Skull . Believe these are Graham Avis castings now by P&D Marsh
  2. HI-DE-HI Campers! The clubhouse is coming along, next to level the ground under it, add a path or two and make a shower block! Backscene needs touching up, caravans need another coat and then detailing, painted one of my campers Blue as had two green ones!
  3. Evening all, time to begin work on the caravan park at the top of the left hand hill, so began tonight by adding some hedgerows along the road and then a few hedge separated fields. This was done by laying a thick layer of PVA onto the surface, attaching woodland scenics "Hedgerow" and then dispensing a liberal amount of pva and water mix onto the hedges. I find they then dry rock hard and donf fall off the layout once glued! After the pva mix is added comes a puffer bottle full of a mixture of three different scenic scatters which is puffed out over the hedges and attaches nicely to them as they are wet!
  4. Trying a different era, bring on the Fag Packets!!!
  5. Thanks Ben, the cliffs look pretty good too!!
  6. Hi all, havent posted in a while so a couple more progress shots, the station is now virtually finished, signs have gone up, posters have been installed and a lot of tiny people have appeared! The badly built ex GWR benches were made from 2mm etches from N Brass, very fidly for my ham fists still It adds a little extra detail to the platforms.... Behind the scenes all the semaphore signals have now been de Dapoled! I've kept the poles and lights but the unreliable electrical internals have been binned in favour of Pecos smart switch servo controls, quite simple to do and should mean no ripping up the layout if a servo fails in years to come..the added bonus is they are now controlled by the computer too and are synchronised with departing and arriving trains Enjoy!
  7. Where's the voting page gone? It was there earlier i was aiming to cast "Mission Accomplished" at Midnight after all how long has this idea been about
  8. Evening! The latest update, the station signage has finally made it from board to the station! Most of the sign posts are silver painted cardboard with the station name glued to the front, upright posts were made by cutting the legs off some old spare langley kits, filing them down and gluing either end of the thick card. Station and shelters have also had notice boarda added for effect. Photos not brilliant im afraid due to the ageing iphone!
  9. Afternoon, after finally getting round to wiring up all the electric components and DCC cabling i thought i would have a little Hydraulic test... Not sure about the quality of the video but at least you can see the layout is progressing... Sorry about the sound overlay, it was that or the two year old shouting!
  10. Ps Bernard that link is super many thanks!!
  11. Ah Nick, its 1970, no one cares !!!! No four wheeled shunting trucks hurtling down my high street controlled by dubious characters
  12. On further reflection i an not sure about this.... What do my readers think? I think i could print a better DPI in my printer, the red seems pixelated?
  13. Taken delivery today of a sign pack for the station, circa 1968-1992 signage courtesy of James at trackside signs..
  14. I spy a cross country super voyager!!???? Did it have five coaches ??
  15. Big thanks to my mate Maurits who popped round tonight inserted a screw into the track and solved all my issues!! We had a point lifting just enough to cause a short some how!! Still its gone now so happy days!
  16. Thanks for that, I'm pretty sure I have IRJ's at the appropriate points but will look again as for the other part I will have a look, cant remember back a year ago
  17. Hi guys, yes all my frogs are isolated, currently wired to the aux on each seep motor, finding these ultra unreliable.... Just drew out a diagram of the slip to points and there is no way the loco should short so point proximity is not the issue, it's more likely to be the way the frog polarity is changing not working correctly.....I think.......... So the locos travel in the direction shown by the arrows (or reverse) the highlights show frog polarity depending on whether the point is closed or thrown.... If the polarity on a frog was wired wrongly, I would have a permanent short (which I dont, its only when a loco crosses the points from the left and then onto the slip)
  18. Sorted some of the wiring niggles today. Realise due to the proximity of the double slip to two sets of points I need a hex Frog Juicer, another £58 down the pan!! Consoled myself by fixing Dave's welder!!
  19. Good Morning! Well i've managed to tear myself away from the dcc interest and back to proper modelling now.... The street has been installed, fettled slightly and one building has had the side painted (cant get the staff!! Lol @ Iain ) Painted the first coat onto the funicular cars, finished all the fencing and lights in the station, painted the platform again. Now begun to disguise the bus entry and add some trees using wiodland scenics tree former I picked up from Keith at KS Models in Stevenage last weekend.
  20. So there I was in the attic this morning and I came across an old dusty photo dated 1937.... One for all the kettle lovers! Spot the deliberate mistake!
  21. So today finished the station lighting, all the spear fencing and re laid the bus route due to a slight issue with the bus crashing into the Barbers Shop eek!! Oh did i mention the first delivery of Iains buildings have arrived??
  22. So today work has continued on the station diorama, installed station fencing etches from N brass, painted with iron acrylic, kitbashed the platform shelter from two ratio kits, painted and weathered... Added the station lights from CR signals to the platforms and the yard... I also happen to know the town is enroute so there should be some more photos posted over the weekend!!
  23. Evening all, decided to finally start work on the station this evening, lighting installed as well as building almost complete and overall roof installed too. Last trains of the evening arrived and waiting to depart Got 12 cr signals lamps to install and lot of fencing around the car park tonorrow to install, then its flip the lot over and fix some wiring quandries I have...
  24. Ha!!! Not as confused as i was fitting all this stuff..... I wish i'd left it all as it was and saved a fortune.... Still you have to try these things at least once..... On to the picture....thats the Double Slip Ben! Its open from Up Main to the fy3/4 the picture changes depending on the position...you can practice crashing with your class 70 once i've fixed it lol i think the feet are one of the kids screen savers!
  25. Well its goodbye to the control panel that i spent about three weeks making, turns out no matter how i try with diodes and all i cant get my new digitrax point controllers to work with manual switch cdu.... So did the normal and ripped it all out!! Lots of wires removed, and my laptop works the points really well now.... Oh well these things happen!
