On the other hand, you'll probably find they've taken the money within the week. They always have done with previous 'earlybird' offers. And they've never previously notified despatch as far as I'm aware either - my own previous advance orders with Locomotion have simply arrived unannounced, and with somewhat rudimentary packing into the bargain. Hattons they most certainly aren't. -
As far as the LNER models are concerned, all the latest series of super detailed models are correct. Only Mallard, Sir Charles Newton and Bittern (as she is now) have the double chimney. Hornby's problems have little to do with chimneys, rather it's finding production slots.with capable manufacturers.

Unfortunately it's all too likely that this will repeat the disaster that was the Duke of Gloucester. No flanged wheels with any version and more importantly it wasn't an effective solution to buy a set and just drop them in either, since the flangeless wheels had been mounted so far clear of the rail. I've had the main range version on order since the original announcement, but I'm afraid that the DoG has dampened my expectations, particularly with regard to the chassis.

The cabside numbers are raised though. Really thought the view of the tender might be helpful in view of the discussion.
