  1. Interesting compromise Steve, I assume with the hidden storage sidings it is not necessary to have it linked to the rest of the layout and saves trying to squeeze an extra track in on the curve
  2. Great video and 70 class set Kieran, Kirley Junction looking as good as ever
  3. So that will be a scenic side on all four walls, impressive Steve, look forward to seeing more updates
  4. Lovely finish to the model, very realistic, well done
  5. Thanks Colin, that is a great picture and the first I have actually seen of the full building at the platform end. I actually have room to model that area since changing the layout, so the photo is of great use. Great info also Steve, I think your date is probably right or pretty close as I think the wasp stripes were done around 61/62. Thanks for sharing
  6. The Belfast Corporation bus depot is back! Looking back on my thread, I can’t believe the original depot was built 5 years ago! The same depot remains, but with a larger area for more buses, which is needed, as a couple more Daimler’s and single deckers are waiting to be added to the fleet! An overall view of the area the depot now occupies A peek inside the shed through the fence! The extra storage yard area with the running lines behind the buses.
  7. Sounds good Steve with a good area to work with, looking forward to seeing it progress
  8. An ageing AEC railcar in UTA livery departs Adelaide on an all stations to Lisburn service, passing the hard working coal men delivering coal to the back yards of the houses! Where I lived with my Gran in Hugh Street, we had no back entry and the coal man had to carry the coal through the house to the bunker, the bin men doing the same also!
  9. Welcome to the site Raymond. Great to see your layout. Some nice scenery and I am sure lots more to come. Look forward to seeing it develop further
  10. Usual high standard of model building Kieran, well done
  11. Some amount of work and I would assume blood, tears and sweat has gone into this build, but the video does everything justice. Realistic layout and station that oozes atmosphere
  12. awesome, definitely my favourite colour for the various CIE loco’s, best era to model
  13. A wee bit more work done on the area between Central Junction and Tates Avenue. A new wall has been built and the houses, church and RUC station have started to appear. Plenty of work still to do, the wall needs weathered etc, but with these in front of the lines and the other houses behind the lines I think it adds a bit of depth to the area. CIE 141 class B165 is returning to Grosvenor yard with empty Guinness wagons via the 3rd line while NIR Hunslet 101 Eagle runs light engine towards Lisburn
  14. The latest addition to the layout is a freelance Guinness goods shed, positioned to the back of Adelaide station, just as the original from around 1974 onwards. The previous Guinness shed before 1974 was further down the line and was connected to Grosvenor goods yard via the 3rd line. Guinness traffic, mainly in closed vans would go into Grosvenor yard and then be taken up the 3rd line to the Guinness factory, with the empty wagons returning later. When the new facility at Adelaide was built, the third line was cut back to Tates Ave, with the Guinness traffic using this siding to gain access to the Guinness factory, reversing back into the factory.
  15. Very enjoyable video, the whole layout is fantastic
  16. This is going to be a fantastic looking set Kieran
  17. Love the railway map in the interior, looks like it is from a time when we had a decent railway network
  18. Very nice and realistic, captures the feel of a GNRI building totally
  19. Thanks JSB. The building when I got it had a passing resemblance to the old RUC station on the Lisburn Road, before it was flattened by a bomb!
  20. Thanks Steve. The police station is a very old Superquick model. I know they do another updated version and although the front looks similar the back is different. They are reasonably priced and could always be customised.
