Pool for the BAA and BBA from Grimsby
All the BBA in the pool had wooden cradles , the BAA had a mixture of wooden and the early type metal cradle , of these i know 900090 , 900118 and 900193 had these fitted sidewards and 900172 had them longitudinal.
21121 is the code for Grimsby dock
25208 is BSC SPACE at Tinsley where the coil was unloaded

BSC Scunthorpe to BSC Lackenby slab pool .
BBA and BAA slab wagon pool TOPS report from 1988. This is the pool for the slab traffic that ran from BSC Scunthorpe to BSC Lackenby , not seen many pictures of this train , those that i have seen are class 56 and pairs of class 20's as i assume this was a Frodingham duty. To model this train formation , i have worked out that the consist was usually about 10 wagons being a mixture of both types of wagon. By looking at the report it gives us thus :
Consist at 23.25 : ( empty )
BAA 900003 , 170 , 175 , 184 , 205 , 266 , 304 .
BBA 910092 , 309 , 511.
Total 10 wagons
Consist at 20.20 : ( loaded )
BAA 900017 , 020 , 088 , 113 , 150 , 171 , 173 .
BBA 910011 , 169 .
Total 9 wagons
Consist at 00.20 : ( empty )
BAA 900132 , 139 , 161 , 236 , 241 , 259 ,288 , 299 , 300 .
BBA 910577.
Total 10 wagons .

BSC Lackenby slab / bloom pool , these worked to BSC Shelton , BSC Workington , BSC Scunthorpe , BSC Skinningrove , within the pool a small amount of BBA wagons worked to BSC Hartlepool with coil , later a dedicated pool was formed for the coil traffic ( these are coded ISHRCL in the TOPS report) Dated 1988

I have in the last few days decided to build a covered version of the ex Sheerness Steel JXA wagons , they had a three piece hood fitted that was fabricated from old LPG bogies tank wagon , i have used old Hornby 2 axle tanker barrels cut down on a bandsaw to the approx height and glued together for the hoods , they have had filler and grey primer coats to show up any areas that may need redoing . The rest of the wagon body is handbuilt from 60 thou plasticard and Plastruct section , the bogies are from S Kits . There were 15 of theses wagons converted for use from Shotton to Port Talbot to carry scrap , the hoods are a compromise as photos from above are rare . I think the hoods were all unique as they were all slightly different in appearance .

Just to confuse matters with the BBA conversions , this is how the 13 BWA would have been configured prior to being converted to BWA covered wagons , they had five traverse ex BZA cradles fitted , these wagons worked from Grimsby to the likes of Tinsley , Wolverhampton etc... with imported coil . Not sure how the cradles were arranged when they were covered wagons .

-
The BIA covered wagons would have retained their ex BOA cradles as per the link to the photo with the cover open

Seeing that the BBA with six cradles are to be made here is some information on them ;
BBA wagon pool 4225 Various to various stainless slab / coil .
Total 33
910003 , 006 , 112 , 170 , 179 , 216 , 223 , 234 , 235 , 258 , 264 , 269 , 275 , 292 , 307 , 413 , 420 , 421 , 422 , 423 , 424 , 425 , 426 , 427 , 440 , 441 , 447 , 450 , 461 , 465 , 469 , 484 , 489 .
These 33 wagons were fitted with 6 traverse cradles for carrying stainless slab cast from Tinsley Park steelworks to the East coast ports like Grimsby for an onward sea journey to Germany for rolling , only to be brought back on the same wagons now as coil to Tinsley and Panteg , slab also ran from Tinsley to Lackenby and Port Talbot to be rolled into coil , but as these plants dealt with normal steel , the process of rolling stainless was not best suited to these two plants , hence a switch to European plants . These wagons ran with BDA , BMA with slab and SPA , BAA , BDW with imported coil either as semi finished coil to Tinsley and Panteg or as wrapped finished steel to the likes of Wolverhampton , Brierley Hill etc..
Liveries for these were black with railfreight logo and red cradles or original bauxite brown with brown cradles .

This may sound a bit daft , but if the point motors are only throwing one way and reluctant to go the other way , have they been wired up correctly ?, a friend of mine once wired up all his point motors incorrectly and could not understand why they only went one way , he even resorted to spraying them with WD 40 to try and free them up !

Taken from the Dapol forum in 2017 !
Quote.
We are just refining the first EP so should have some new images to show in the next month or so. Decorations are about to start, so I would say (if pushed) release for the end of the year.

They had an EP sample back in 2016 , five years later .... we'll make some revisions , delayed again no doubt , just makes you think what have they been doing in those interim years ?
