  1. Thanks Jack. They are from the Walthers Lakeville Warehouse kit.
  2. I knocked together a couple of low relief buildings last night. I hope they look "right". What do you think?
  3. Backscenes! Well, they are physically up, but not yet complete.
  4. Operational, I hadn't given it too much thought. I attached a rough scribble to explain how the rest of the line would have worked, how realistic it is I have little idea. I figured I could get away with it as many micro layouts have featured them. In the layout world, space for a second point instead of the diamond would have made the 3rd siding too short. It's almost too short as it is. So there we go. The question was valid, and I have no real answer! Haha!
  5. The Bachmann one needs no serious modification. Just a repaint and glazing. The dimensions as is are fine
  6. Thanks for the kind words chaps. There will be some green added when the ballasting has been completed. I wouldn't worry Dan. This burst of activity will be the last one for a couple of weeks. Plenty of time to catch up!
  7. Road has been finished, and the ballast is dry! Video is on it's way!
  8. Just need a 3rd layout in blue pinstripe colours and we are sorted for 3 decades of SF!
  9. Spent the afternoon ballasting in the glorious sunshine. Also doing some general ground cover. The rails and sleepers were weathered before ballasting.
  10. Haha! You're welcome Dan! I have the same GP40, although I couldn't leave it with the inaccurate number. My OCD got the better of me. Thanks Lloyd. I will leave them as is I think.
  11. Looks lovely Peter. Your stock collection is so varied.
  12. Thank you Andrew, I will check him out. I wasn't really happy with how my road looked, and I have been racking my brains for an alternative. The Smooth It system? Too messy. Polyfilla? Same issue. DAS clay? Too much required for the area, plus the added weight. Plain painted cardboard? Too plain looking with no texture. I decided to try WS modeling sheets. I bought the 8 pack of 1/16th inch. Same stuff those polystyrene planes you could buy from corner shops are made from. What do you think? I can carve potholes and cracks into it.
  13. I think you could easily use those kits. Just use american style signage on them
  14. Thanks Lloyd. I haven't checked them out, but I will now. I'm doing the same Dan, nothing but Clever Models kits.
  15. I have been experimenting with some card kits for use as buildings. I bought a couple from Clever Models, a US Scalescenes, and I have been modifying one kit in particular for the main warehouse. Still very much a work in progress, but let me know what you think.
  16. Thank you for your kind words and the advice on weathering. I shall have a go. I use acrylics, with a combination of matt, silk and gloss. Your weathering is very impressive. Very well done. Also thank you for adding the layout to your blog! Very happy with that!
  17. I will be at TVNAM with it, and a crew, so we can have a proper catch up.
  18. That is very impressive budgeting mate. In other news, the layout maybe appearing at another show in October. I shall keep you all updated.
