  1. So, it has finally been finished... My original plan was to gently remove the Southern Pacific lettering, but that removed the paint as well! So a repaint was in order. Washed, scrubbed and dried, then the primer went on. Flawless. Then I tried a chrome spray. Disaster. Orange peel everywhere! So that came off. Primed again and then using Revell Silver and I was finally happy. I am now extending the layout to accomodate a passenger service.
  2. Just bought an N scale Class 03! Definitely won't work on my HO american layout....

  3. I MAY be getting my layout featured in a magazine....

  6. Glad to have met you Claude and Nick. Thank you for the very kind words. Didn't you know Jordan? They are now using F units for demolition work
  7. Thanks Prof and Engine. The 2nd day was much better. The layout really behaved itself and people would stay and watch for 15-20 minutes! I also received 2 further exhibition invitations! Good weekend all round.
  8. Day one of the show complete and I received many favorable comments. There are a few niggles with the layout, but that is to be expected. Sole shot from the show as I was the only operator.
  9. Thanks Mark. I hope it performs as well as it looks. Thanks Chris. Yes do pop over and say hello.
  10. Do come say hello. Always a pleasure to meet fellow rm webbers. So last full day working on the layout before the weekend. I re-did the fascia as it was not straight, nor were the letters! And plenty of odd little jobs. General overview. Just praying it runs well on the day!
  11. Slowly getting there... But do you notice a problem? Yeah, me too. 30 minutes later
  12. Better shot of the unit The B unit is a dummy, and weights next to nothing, where as the A unit weighs a ton and has something called a "Super weight" according to the service sheet.
  13. Well, I had an unexpected day off today, so went and rescued the F units. And a couple of Walthers Budd carriages. And an Athearn piggy back flat wagon. So F unit A and B 37 flies through with the El Capitan whilst Alco HH1000 2312 waits with the piggy back out of the way.
  14. Don't forget the PA/PB's! I like the longer nose on the PA's.
  15. Oh no....another pre order has come in. (Picture courtesy of Athearn) I'm picking it up Saturday Also a ATSF PA/PB set has been pre ordered for next year... All singing, all dancing. Due for release in May, which is my birthday, and it's my 30th. (Picture courtesy of Walthers)
  16. Do make yourself known Lloyd. Always nice to put a face to the name. You can even have a play.
  17. The exhibition is the Farnham and District Model Railway Club's annual show in Aldershot. Over 20 layouts I believe. Nick has me down for TVNAM next year so you should see it then.
  18. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I am still working on the layout (exhibition next weekend!). Been wiring in various droppers as I had some dead spots. Two vehicles now have headlights. Front fascias added. Gaps in the roadway filled with Milliput. Busy busy busy!
  19. My mother passed away on the 11th of September and my plan to keep myself busy has now failed. I can no longer keep my mind focused. She was only 64. Rest in peace mum.
  20. The layout lives "Dahn Saaf" so you are more than welcome to come see it Lloyd. And it is on display in Aldershot in less than 4 weeks!
  21. I hadn't thought about it to be honest. No harm in asking though hey?
  22. I suspect it is the camera. I had been fiddling with ISO settings. The lights are definitely white.
  23. Lighting rig has now been added. I think the colour is spot on for a really cold day.
  24. Headlights completed. I am really pleased with how this turned out
