Thanks Mike! your a gent.
Since I took the photographs last night, I have realised why I was unhappy with the it.
The earth colour is very dark, at the time of the photo the ballast glue was wet, and therefore it looks much darker, and finally I took a single photo of the whole layout frontage, where two would have been much better.
BUT at the time I was very tied.

I did concider the use of an eye on the controller and hooks on the layout, but came down in favour of the shelf, because of the possibility of using one hand to hold the train cassette in place and the other to use the controller.
I take your point, but think I have reduced the problem, by having the sides on the left and back sides of the shelf.

Hi
I'm looking in the storage in the roof, I think I have another iron there!
The extra work on the fiddleyard has paid off!
The extra road, will be able to hold No. 2 locomotive and some spare wagons to allow me to ring the changes in the local goods train.

Hi
Currently the backscene heigfht is 220 mm, and I am OMLY concidering that this may be too high for putting it on a luggage rack, on the train.

Hi
I had a slight accident yesterday, whilst working on the layout. I dropped the soldering iron, and unfortunately attempted to catch it.
The left hand was not badly burned, and is now almost completely healed.
I MUST REMEMBER NOT TO CATCH A DROPPED SOLDERING IRON x 100 TIMES!

Hi
I think that the height of the backscene might be too high, not for scenic reasons, but it may be too cumbersome when being moved on public transport.

There have been some slight interuptions to normal service recently, due to work being done on the site. The picture is displayed most of the time.
Thanks for your comments, they are helpful. Can anyone give me some help with how wet the glue needs to be to apply static grass, using a Noch puffer bottle?
