  7. Evening all, Today I have continued to wire up the pits at Boxenby with Grimley Senior using the Palatine Models rail droppers. Apologies in advance for the poor phone pictures, it really struggled to focus on the small details. First I file the bottom of the rails to remove the excess paint and ready the rail for the solder: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr Next I solder on two 'blobs' of solder onto the bottom of the rail ready for the droppers: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr After this, using a pair of pliers, I solder on the dropper just heating the solder that's already there and holding the dropper in place: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr Then I bend it through 90 degrees using pliers: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr Next I bend the dropper wire into a little hook and pull it through the dropper: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr Then attach it using a small blob of solder: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr The final product, barely visible and will be covered up even more by the ballast: How to: wiring up by Southwich Railway, on Flickr Hope that is useful. Thanks, Will

  12. Looking good Mark I've enjoyed following your layout progress keep up the good work. Also I've began to use the little droppers, on my layout Motts Lane, which you recommended a couple of pages back and would like to thank you for the recommendation, they really are useful!

  14. Looking good Peter I'm now a follower! Glad you've gone for hand building the track work, it looks so much better. On the planning side of things have you considered templot? It's free and relatively easy to use whilst it gives you all the sleeper positions for the points and the normal straights etc. Just a thought but I believe it's a good piece of software and would definitely help you out. Hope that helps, Will
  15. Thanks for the advice Cav, much appreciated!
  16. Looks superb Cav! One quick question: what do you use to stick down the copper clad sleepers? Thanks, Will
  17. I can imagine! So much more detail compared with 4mm, however I haven't got nearly enough room for a garden layout! Thanks, Will
  18. Of course it still is! No chance of them bothering to move it... Will try and photograph it the next time I'm up there. Thanks, Will
