  1. Just finished off weathering my first locomotive and I must say I am over the moon with how she turned out! I used weathering powders from the Humbrol range (no spray paints), including Dark Earth, Iron Oxide, Smoke and White Powders. I then held the powders in place with a quick spray of Humbrol Matt Varnish. Please tell me what you think of the results! Loco Featured; Bachmann 32-129A Class 45XX '4545' BR Early
  2. Hi Guys thought I start a thread showing some of my attempts at weathering. I don't use spray paints, just good old weathering powders and paints! I mostly weather wagons at the moment, but I have just weathered my first locomotive and I am very impressed with the finish! :locomotive:Please tell me what you think of my results and how I can improve!
  3. Certainly building up your fleet! Can't wait to see them!
  4. They are stunning models! Mine sadly had a few issues, but that just me (as you know I seem have a lot of bad luck with new models)! Both me and Hornbyandbf3fan have reviews of ours online.
  5. Thanks Em! Glad you have enjoyed it's updates! Quite sad I that I am not doing any more on it! That cobble effect is certainly very interesting and can't wait to see some on your layout! Is there an update coming soon on your layout? Would great to see it again!

  14. The first Compton Martin Model Railway Exhibition was a massive success! I'm sure there will be another in the not to distant future. I would like to say a very big thank you to all the exhibitors that displayed along with Signals Model and of course the staff in the restaurant! Compton Martin perform well on the day, apart from a issue with one of the sets of points, which I hope to sort. Here's my footage of the event. Hope you enjoy!
  15. Sadly no pictures, but a video is being edited now!
  16. Thanks Rob! The event went extremely well! A great turn out! I will upload videos very soon!
  17. It's the big day tomorrow, with Compton Martin at it's first outing! The exhibition is at the real Compton Martin and has been in the pipe line for a few months (see my video about the event a page back). I set Compton Martin up today at the venue ready for the event tomorrow along with 3 other layouts and the Signals Model Trade Stand! 4 more layouts are turning up tomorrow. Entry is totally FREE! See Hornbyandbf3fans post for more info about the event http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/75837-compton-martin-model-railway-exhibition/&do=findComment&comment=1211677 Here are some pics from the set up today.
  18. The day before Compton Martin first out! Today apart from packing and setting the layout up at the venue I managed to name Compton Martin's little private saddle tank 'Chew Valley'. And yes the name plate are on paper , but they don't look half bad (even surprised me)! I'm will get around to putting proper Narrow Planet ones on in the future. Here are some pics of her in the goods yard on Compton Martin before packing.
  19. Thanks mate! You can see it for real tomorrow! Got some pics of the event set up so far under the Exhibition section. Look for Compton Martin Model Railway Exhibition to have a look. Plus Just about to add some pics of the newly named 'Chew Valley'!
