A couple of questions, if I may: 1) Does this museum still run? In my forays around Whitley Bay/North Shields, etc. over recent years, I've never seen it signposted; and 2) Are either of those two ex-LNER coaches still extant?

You can Google "Stephenson Museum" and will find their website. The museum is closed due to the virus but is normally open. Not sure about the two coaches.

Hi Chris, had Ally Pally gone ahead the magazine would have been on sale at the show. The mag contents were completed a couple of weeks before the event when the world looked very, very different.

I fully understand that the current situation was not in anyone's plans but even with the magazine being on sale at the show I still don't understand why when it was not due on the shop shelves or to subscribers until nearly a week later you would preach to those at the show. I am not saying you got it wrong, just I do not understand the logic. As I said in my original post, another good issue and once I have watched all the country concerts that are streaming I must get around to watching the BRM DVD. Best wishes to all at BRM, it must be even harder producing the magazine in the current situation.

  3. Another fine issue but can I ask why when it was not available in shops until 26th March and I got my subscription copy on 24th March you had adverts and write ups for an exhibition that was due to be on 21st and 22nd March?

I wonder how the present demands that people work from home will impact on office space and commuting post C-19? Employers may realise that they only need office space for the (in)Humane Reduction faction!

Why waste office space on HR? In my experience most are a waste of air without giving them office space as well!

Sadly my attempt at humour fell foul of the auto censor. ding should be followed by a very similar word in which the second letter is replaced by an o!

That does of course imply that bureaucrats can act in a sensible manner, let us hope that is the case.

"bureaucrats" and "act in a sensible manner" are not usual in the same sentence but I did see a flock of pigs flying around earlier so you may be in luck.

Can Mrs 505 have the pattern please?  She's got miles of wool and is a really good knitter.

I do believe she will also take on commissions if required.  Her rates are quite competitive.................

Be very careful making such offers. She may make you one!

I don't know what the provision is like in Wandsworth but have you tried alternatives to the supermarkets which might be a bit quieter? I'm thinking along the lines of wholefood or scoop shops. Again I don't know the state of play but how about arranging for deliveries either from the supermarkets or other suppliers. My very elderly mum gets ready meals delivered from a firm who mostly supply the elderly who have difficulty getting out to do their shopping.

Following on from my previous message and yours above, I am glad to report that I have managed to get a week's worth of food supplies and although not what we would have as first choice. No pasta, toilet rolls, eggs or tinned tomatoes and not much fresh meat but we won't starve and I didn't buy more than two of anything!

  9. My wife and I are both trying to keep away from the virus but I have had to go supermarket visiting every day as I have been unable, like a lot of people, to buy what we want.

The lack of stock due to the panic buying means we are now more likely to get ill. I wish I knew what the solution to this problem is but it is something we all need to be aware of.

It is a good thing I had finished my coffee before I saw this as the computer would have been covered.

Probably best if we return to the "RMweb is 15" theme.

Tread drift happens in all the best threads! Even Mornington Crescent and the Jokes thread get it. Helps to check who is paying attention and if AndyY is awake.

Yesterday as I was passing I picked up some milk in a Tesco's Express normally I pay £1.20 for 4 pints, those rip off B'stards £1.80 won't be using those stores again. :threaten:

I've food for 2 weeks in the fridge/freezer apart from milk I will ease of my consumption of it to save a daily battle to find some 8 pints in the fridge is normally 2-3 days worth

I should be able to stretch that a bit.

Better get on stay safe :superman: I. Wusrooked :biggrin_mini2:

My Tesco Express has charged £1.09 or £1.10 for four pints of milk for what seems like forever and the price had not changed yesterday. Are you sure you didn't pick up one of the more expensive brands instead of their own brand cheap milk. I have made that mistake in Morrisons once but now check I am picking the right thing more carefully.
